Report a translation problem
If you go to your cosmetic tab and click on the create cosmetics tab on the far right, it will list all skins you have unlocked. You can then apply the skins from there so long as you have the weapon, tool, or armor piece that the skin can be applied to in your inventory. To apply a skin to a creature, you open it's inventory, then go to the create cosmetics tab and apply it the same way.
The only reason to hold onto the actual skin item, is if you want to gift it to someone.
