No Frame Generation - Then I'm Not Playing Anymore

So instead of fixing the current DLSS Frame Gen issues your going to completely remove DLSS Frame Gen from the Game... Then force everyone to use the AMD FSR which looks and performs worse than DLSS Frame Gen.

I don't have issues with Frame Gen in any other game, not even Cyberpunk 2077 with Path Tracing enabled which looks betters and performs better than ASA. Its the game itself that is the issue.

This is not an AMD hate train, I own intel, AMD, and NVIDIA hardware. But the fact is that 76% of steam users are using a NVIDIA graphics card, why would you remove support for NVIDIA Frame Generation? You can have both Frame Generation and FSR 3.1 which is what Cyberpunk developers had done.

I have nearly 2,000 hours in ARK and been playing since 2015, but if the developers really just want to remove important features instead of fixing the issues than this was the last straw.

Ooof yeah, just read the community crunch on this...... thing is, my game is running GREAT, and looks GREAT, entirely BECAUSE of DLSS 3 Frame Gen. It's working spectacularly for me! If the games visuals are degraded or the game starts feeling more "hitchy" as a result of them forcing AMDs version of Frame Gen, then it's going to be a much less enjoyable experience for me.

Most likely, but like you said, what's it really cost to have both? Why are they sooooo good at making horrible decisions? lol at this point it's almost impressive!

I just committed to a 4070 ti super for my new pc... rip

I was debating between it and the 7900xtx but wanted better Ray tracing and dlss. Asa was One of the games I was most hyped to try it too!

FSR 3.1 will be fine, its just not nearly as good image quality. Performance is slightly worse too. I got a 4070ti not to long ago, I would suggest trying out Cyberpunk 2077 with Path Tracing on ultra.

Will do! I'm upgrading from a gaming laptop with a 3070, before that I had a desktop with a 1060 so im very excited for this new rig. Has a 7800x3d as well.

I had to stop cyberpunk before, too glitchy but now I can try the 2.0 update so hypes real.

I had a 3070 before upgrading to my 4070ti as well, 7800x3D is an amazing CPU. I played Cyberpunk at launch and only had a handful of bugs my first playthrough, nothing game breaking. Its a totally new game nowadays though, really worth the time to explore the world and atmosphere. The path tracing is incredibly amazing. With my 4070ti and frame generation I'm getting well over 100+ fps.

They didn't want to use up resources on two different systems. Nvidia wants exclusive use of their system for Nvidia cards, AMD allows their system to be used everywhere. FSR can be used on all systems, now they can focus on ONLY one frame generation system. Maybe they will make it work better, maybe it will get better over time. It's a no brainer to embrace one tech for all instead of multiple tech's, and wildcard needs to simplify things as much as possible with all the problems they have right now.

all frame gen did for me was look me in at 35fps. statfps said 35, alt r said 80 plus, without frame gen i was at 50 wwithout raking clouds and fog away. so i lost 15 fos while gaining fake frames

after testing im at 50 fps on a consistent with fem gen im at 35 with sTt fps or 80 with alt r. realllY all i see is a increase OF READER SPEED

It wasn't working correctly at all for you then. At my settings I'm hovering around 45FPS without Frame Gen, Not horrible for ASA, but there's a noticeable hitch and jerkiness. With Frame Gen on, it takes it up to around 70FPS and smooths that hitch right out. I'm playing ASA more smoothly than I've ever been able to play ASE over the course of the years and through multiple graphics card upgrades.

The main reason is probably because the consoles (PS5/Xbox) use AMD hardware.
