Nitrado
Nitrado servers suck soooo bad i dont understand why Ark devs would use them over anyone else the constant restarts are extremely inconvenient as well as crash multiple times. On multiple occasions i had to role back my server because the server would get stuck in a loop of restarting updating and shuting down. Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ servers. i put in almost 1k hrs on survival evolved with gportal and had 0 issues every and ran a cluster of like 7 maps but on survival ascended i cant play more then about 3 or 4 hrs before i run into an issue with the server which leaves it down for hrs.

Host your own! we rent a vps and host 6 maps, soon to be 7 in a cluster. Moving to a dedicated pc/server soon though. Restart loops have happened but seem much less frequent than Nitrado. Also wrote scripts to backup save folders, restart sever/map on crash and update all the maps.

Nitrado is being used because big companies loan money and people disappear if payback doesn't happen on time.

We have started hosting our own and it's way better having complete full control over the server, we aren't renting anything either just using the hardware we have cause our pcs are strong enough to host and play it together

I would potentially use it if they wouldn't force the minimum 30 day option even on custom require 20 slots and as a result be over $25/mo, much rather just host my own

This. My problems with nitrado are nearly endless... If my processor could handle it i would GLADLY host my own. Instead i get to shell out 60+ USD every 3 months for a server thats gonna restart loop or get corrupted everyother week it seems.

It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing right now and I honestly feel bad for people with no other choice ark is gonna lose alot of players for this and I hope they can get out of there 7yr contract with nitrado cause I will never use them again I recommend gportal servers as soon as there available

you would be completely surprised what an old 6-8 year old PC can do running ark servers I first had a duel core pentium running several ASE maps then up`d to ASA with 2 maps running. I then went to an old i5 5800 with a 1TB nvme with 48GB running 4 maps. (my old gaming rig) It ate it, all clustered, no lag, virtually no downtime, no rubberbanding no memory constraints. only just changed it into a ryzen5 and 128gb memory... it can run 8-10 maps clustered with MODS easily

and with Nitrado servers.. it`s money... they are Virtual servers that are shared across several users (oversubscribed, to the point that too many contracts, maps, players are on a box server.. result not enough server resources to service the maps. I suggest they don`t care as all they want is max users... prove me wrong

its better when you have a dedicated server im doing all survival evolved and Ascended maps and it performs pretty well each server holds 250

If you are paying 60 a month, you could finance a computer that can run ark servers for less. The only thing a computer needs to run ark servers is at least 3ghz processor, and 6-8 gig of ram per server. There is no video card requirement. I use the following to manage my servers: https://asadedicatedmanager.eu/ I find it very good there are other server managers out there as well. I currently run 3 servers on my old laptop. Once abberation is live, I intend to setup a 4th.

I am glad it is working for someone. I had one for a while and got tired of the issues so now I host my own.

Out of curiosity, what region do you rent from? (NA, EU, etc)
Might be connected to the amount of servers available and total load of the hardware machine.
