Imagine paying for a reskin of a game just to get microtransaction's priced at ridiculous rates; thrusted in your face 24/7 that are just further reskins of the game that you already paid for a reskin version of.

Best part is just wait for uh, Ark 2? Where they certainly won't do what they did for Ark Survival Evolved players, pulling the plug on official servers to try to push the remenants of their player base to the "Bigger better ark" game. I genuinely feel bad for those who got tricked into this scam.

I imagine well, from 1 to 10 i love to play ASA at 9! I'm playing in 4K, it's wonderful, i have more than 500 hours and i always love this... scam... With that, i launch the game!

Enjoy getting fleeced and felted for a higher resolution, I'd rather spend the +$100 on something worth while like hardware.

I bought ASA + the main dlc and i think you are totally right. Even monetizing the mods and starting to sell creatures is a shame. I wouldn't be surprise if some people might end up outlaid more than 150-200€ or even more in the game, in the end.

Influencers are defending paid mods saying that their work must be rewarded, but hell back in the good old days, some people were making custom games on Starcraft / Warcraft 3 and never get paid for this. They should just hire those talents instead of scamming customers and try to be greedy. All modern gaming companies are doing that and it's a shame.

Now i think that Ark 2 won't follow the same road, if you think you gonna have a normal game without paid content you are lying to youself.

I'm 6000+ hours into ASE and 400+ hours into ASA. I don't feel scammed.
I look at it this way, it's a continuation of ASE, this is where the new official content is getting released..... calling it a "higher resolution reskin" might be what the kids are doing these days, but that hardly does it justice.
The world looks and feels more alive, dense forests and vegetation, trees and bushes that shake when something moves nearby. You don't know what's going to pop out from behind it, is it something that wants to eat you? This element alone really gives ARK a survival horror vibe that you could never get in ASE.
When you approach a mountain and looking up in the sky towards its peak, you can't help but notice the peak is completely obscured in clouds.
Running through the grass and water and having it actually move in response.
There are babies in the world that parents will fiercely defend, it's pretty comical seeing a lowly Phiomia run up and take on a Carno that's been nibbling on its kid.
It's just an experience that you can't get in ASE.

I'd say try it before you trash it honestly, the videos you've seen don't really do it justice. If you don't like it, or if your PC can't yet handle it, refund it.
I'll completely agree with you about the pay to win stuff, it's not really the path I'd like to see them go down.

i do feel scammed.. the whole purpose of this game was that it should look visually better than it's predecessor, yet it having so many bug's especially in the visual aspect of the game, flickering shadow's rocks and foliage that float, and the performance being utterly ♥♥♥♥ compared to other titles with the ue5. And there is no improvement in those areas. The only thing they care about is money after realeasing a 50 € early access game with major bugs and issues, i never EVER will give them my money again

$5 might not be a lot to you but to some people it isn't worth the price for a single dino. I agree for PVE the paid dino is whatever who cares but for PVP it is a massive advantage for whoever has it especially with how overpowered it is.

Game jumped the shark when they released the paid dinosaur which will remain nameless, forcing this onto the PVP servers as well as single player games by default.

People are moaning about the game because most don't have a powerful enough pc to be able to run it well.
And I think deep down the majority is desperate to be able to play it.
