Updates takes too long to install

This game has a weird issue where it would download a 300mb update but the installation is over 100gb, it does not make sense and the install process of the update takes over an hour each time which is really annoying. I have the game installed on a 2tb sata ssd and don't have a single hdd in my system...

you need to have double the install size available in free space on that SSD. If not it takes forever.

is your PC decent? last update took me less than three minutes. Im using a 13700 with 64gb of ram and a 980 pro m.2 ssd (that has 300gb of free space).

sounds like a config issue.. check your read/write speeds.. should be 400mb/s+.. which is still slow... avg m.2 is doing over 7000mb/s+... cpu doesn't matter too much seeing as i have a ryzen 5 1600 on an older mobo that doesn't fully utilize my v4 m.2 and updates still only take 1-5min

My current specs:

Ryzen 5 3600 cpu
16GB 3600Mhz CL16 ram
RX 6700 gpu
Windows is installed on a m.2 nvme but the game is on a sata ssd

Edit: Next month I'll be upgrading to a ryzen 7 7700 and 32 or 64gb ram

I don't have this issue on any other game, it just that ark has a stupid thing where it'll download 300mb of update but install it as 100gb+ update... (550 read / 500 write on the ssd where the game was installed on)

same problem, i have to reinstall the entire game every time they update
