Breeding Question
Hi all, i'm new at breeding, watched a load of guides about mutations but can't seem to find an answer?

i'm starting to build up the mutation counter, but I notice there is a chance that the baby of a mutated parent has a chance to NOT inherit the stat increase even if it shows on his counter as having the mutation. Is this normal? one parent is unmutated as per the guide. Should I kill the baby, or is there a chance his offspring will still be able to pass on the mutation?

The male is being upgraded regularly, he can have millions of mutations.

You wait for new mutations and combine them in a separate breeding group, this group will have mutated females, you want all the mutations you care about on a new male then he begins the process again with the unmutated (clean) females.
20 clean females or more if you can squeeze them all together will increase the odds.
Dino cannot have millions mutation unless you go for negative mutation which is clearly for advanced player and you remove dino level cap.

You basicaly start by taming a female and a male...You bread them until all stats(or those you want) have transfer to a male and a female as well which should be equal in level at the end of the process. After that, you bread those togherter(we will call them Base female and Base male. You should do it until you reach as you said at least 20 female. In the process you could have mutation that you want to keep for later.....Its have to be a male tho.Your base female, you will keep them for a long time...until your final couple. So you bread and try to get mutation from MALE in the stats you want.If for example you want dino with Melee and one of those egg pop a dino with melee increase stats...you will call it Dino name/Lvl/Melee 1.You then KEEP YOUR BASE FEMALE BUT SWTICH YOUR MALE.You no longer need your base male if you want to go ahead with more Melee mutation. After replacing your base male by your melee one.You keep repeating this process until you reach 20 mutation in melee. At the end you should have 20 female base and 1 male base with 20 Melee male for each mutation step you took.

Once you done for melee, you put those away(KEEP THEM THO ALWAY CRYO THEM) replace your last melee dino which was breeding by your base one and try to get a new mutation in HP for example. You repeat the process until you reach 20 mutations in HP.Once its done, since both melee and hp dino are male you will need to create a female with one of those to be able to breed them after.Pick one of them return to your base female and breed them until you get a female with the exact same stats of your male.Finaly once its done breed that female with your melee or hp male depending which one you choose and voila.Do this to create a couple of dino with both mutation and you will be able to print them after incase you loose one.

The only time you want to replace your BASE FEMALE is if you tame a new dino with higher stats and you want thoses stats to upgrade your dino line.In that case you gotta repeat step 1 and replace all your Base female and your base male with the new stats.

Basicaly, the link i sent explain all this.At the end of the video she show how to (cheat) the game with negative mutation to get more then 40 mutations on a dino. You should seriously not waste your time with this because its tedious and with a good 135 to 150 dino + mutations and saddle its more then enought to beat any boss...

PS:NEVER IMPRINT DINO that you use to breed or add point into stats.

Just a quick note on above - if you find dinos with higher stats then your original breeding dinos, store until you finish your 20/20 muts then breed with your higher stats dino(s).

With ASA muts are stored separately to the base stats so don't need to start the breeding process again.

Thank you guys - altho can I ask, I never seem to get JUST one stat mutations, ill end up with a few melee, some stamina etc. How do I keep it to just 20 in one stat mutation other than killing any muts that dont conform?

All bosses have bean greatly nerfed in asa don't waste your time just get good levels (130-150) and imprint them you will be more than fine for all the way up to alpha

The Mutation counter is the enemy not your friend, Its easy to max it out but it doesn't mean your actually carrying the mutated traits over

As for keeping the mute lines clean.....Infanticide lots of infanticide. Use it as an opportunity to level other dinos I have a kill box full of aircons for this

If you want a better Stat GUI get superspyglass+ its cheaty outside breeding but it makes all stats display as points and divides them as Wild LVL/Mute/TamedLVL so 40/6/0 would be 3 mutations stacked (same if you cyro pod them but thats a lot of extra work to read stats)

So if your counting mutations but have 0 in those middle columns nothing is carrying over and its a fail
