this turns VOLUMETRIC fog off, leaves on the distance fog and leaves volumetric clouds on but turns them down a bit since they are about 300% worse than the volumetric cloud settings on star citizen which is twice as bad as any other game in existence. without clouds you give up atmosphere and these settings will give you some FPS, remove the excessive volumetric fog that also makes underwater look murky and it's what i roll with.
