how to play?

Yeahhhhh, totally new to this game. How do you play? Just throws me in the game and there are zero tutorials. How do i craft items? How do i pick stuff up? Whats the goal of this game?

Yes i googled how to play but I feel like i'm missing something here. o-o

The main two goals are: explore and survive. The rest is pretty up to you. There's only background-story found in tiny chests. (they will get auto-öactivated, when you get near, An Information-screen will then pop-up and you'll get a big XP-gain-bonus. for a time.)

You should level up pretty fast. Spending stat-points will get you engram-point which are used to unlock certain crafting-receipts. Just use the "use"-key to pick up some stones. Then get to a wood-source (anything will do) and attack. This should give you some thatch. With that you should be able to create your first tool: a stone-pickaxe.

This tool will proviede you with flintstones, if you attack stone-rocks with it. and some wood.
You should have leveled up meanwhile. Spend the stat-points. Only then will you get engram-points to unlock a stone-axe, campfire, spear and cloth-armor.

If you have all done that, you should have basic information, how crafting works..

It just is too big, to explain it all here. The easiest way is to watch some lets plays. (watch ASA-let's plays, not ASE - that's the shortcut for Ark survival evovled. the original game.)

join a dedicated server ask in game for help (press enter should show global with a flashing cursor, if it does not hit tab key until it does) introduce yourself and say you are new, most ppl will guide/help you. assuming that ppl are logged on same time as you. Come join my server i will guide you through the basics if you like. you can then go your own way after search for join game when you run asa in steam then top right search vigs should see 2 servers we are playing on scorched at the moment be aware this map is harsh but i have an island map as well which i would recommend you to start on. get me on my discord https://discord.gg/GjhNmygu

Press "I" to open your inventory, from there you should be able to switch to a crafting tab to craft basic things. As you level up, you'll need to manually put in points towards stats you want to level up. Afterwards, you'll be taken to a screen to put in points towards engrams/blueprints you wish to learn. Once you learn those engrams/blueprints, you'll be able to craft them depending on whatever other things they may need to be crafted. You use "E" to pick stuff up. And since you'll likely not have or found any tools when just starting out, you'll have to punch things to get some resources. Punch trees enough to get thatch and wood, pick up rocks off the ground and craft a pick and an axe. Then work your way up from there, the world is your oyster so to speak. Other than that, not much need for a tutorial. Keep an eye out for wild baby dinos without parents. You may be able to claim them, and this will give you a huge leg up when starting out. Assuming you're not on a pvp server.

First goal is to survive. Tame dinos which you can ride if you craft a saddle. They help you survive. Another goal is to breed a pack of special dinos (12 Megatherium, 12 T-Rex), examine all caves to find all artifacts and then fight the bosses (Spider, Ape and Dragon). Additional you need throphy's for this, you get by fighting Alpha Dinos. Another goal is to find all Explorer Notes on the maps, read them to learn more about the background story.
