UPDATE is around 350MB, that gets downloaded, after that the whole game get's a file check and get's patched where needed.
So it DOES NOT download the 109+ GB.
it has taken 4hrs so far
You on a HDD ? or a SSD ? If SSD do you have at least 200gb of free space on that drive ? If HDD... well thats under minimum specs, so its gonna be like that.
Well if you pay attention to games other than Ark you would know that it is a STEAM issue not Ark issues. Knowledge is key and the answer to this issue. Unreal games seem to have this issue more often then any other game out there. Contact Steam Support they will tell you it is a Hardware issues. Of course that is crap we know that. The more complaints on the issue that actually get to Steam the more likely they are to fix it. I spent all day yesterday installing a game to check it out after years of development, took the other half the day to uninstall the game. Installed on a Brand new 4TB SSD so clearly not hardware.
If you buy a Samsung TV at the local Walmart do you blame Samsung if apps are slow to load onto that TV? No you would look at the Operating System in the TV.
Either people need to start educating themselves on these sorts of issues with Steam or just except that you have to live with this. I have a 1Gbps connection and still I have slow updates going to a 4TB SSD that was just bought in Dec 2023. So the common denominator when multiple games have this issue is only STEAM.
Its NOT the Games fault, its Steam or your Computer.
I downloaded 50gb and installed 110gb in just 30min...
Yeah you clearly do not understand the issue because you are fortunate enough not to have been effected by the issue. I have friends with your attitude then one day they had to wait and wait, their tune changed quickly
No it does not matter who is at fault that is not the point. The point is do you call your Electric company when your car does not start? Do you call the hospital when your house is on fire? Of course you do not. Well this is not any different. Complaints here are made here. Not only does WC not even see them but Steam can easily ignore them as they have for over 10yrs. Check the original Ark forum see the same complaints since 2015. Check the game Icarus made by Rocketwertz you will see the same complaints.
So no idea what i do "not" understand.
