Here is how to feed the Oasisaur...

Craft the plant pots and shovel, that come with the DLC. Hit the bases of leafed trees and it puts a "large tree" in the pot. Put the pots in the Oasisaur inventory.

The leafed trees give the most food. More than bushes or the cactus trees (like the Joshua trees), that are still considered bushes once in the pot.

I haven't tried the bigger multi branched looking cactus trees yet.

EDIT: The big cactus, that has the big base and will give you wood when you hit it, they give you a "medium large cactus" in the pot, so I'm assuming it also gives more food than just bushes. With 10 pots I was able to get the SS Minnow's food full fairly quickly. I'm going to make a bunch and fill up their inventory. At least they don't spoil. Nice.
