Update stops at 1% when installing

How can i fix this when my Update stops at 1%? Friend of mine had the same and he had to reinstall it, and i dont wanna do that with my 5Mps.

You have to wait a long time. Its basically scratching the whole game to another disc to update.

It's still updating if you look at the download itself if may say it's stuck at 2% or 5% but you can see it's still downloading and installing.

Be patient and let it do it's thing, reinstalling is not quicker...

Edit: make sure you have enough spare room on your sdd.

Thanks for the help, it went from 1% to finished just seconds ago. Didnt even noticed it.

Make sure you have double the space for UE5 games. Makes large updates go quicker.

The more space you have the better it used take me 4 hours to patch the game, now I've moved the game to its own SSD it takes 4 mins.

This happens to me every update last week i had to reinstall the whole game for it to process. there is 137 gb free on my ssd, but it installs then does it again and pauses at 2.0 gb and i cant do a thing to change it

i have the same issue for long time until i found this and worked for me

go to steam > settings > download > clear download cache

i did that before downloading the game update and it's actually fixed my problem i downloaded the updated and installed it without no issues

Guys solution is this: go to steam > settings > download > clear download cache

if it says "DOWNLOADING 0%" forever it's stuck, clear cache like the guy said above me

but if it says "RESERVING SPACE" 1% just wait, it's working as intended

and as others said you do indeed need double the space of the install for each update


so for instance, right now, it's a 118gig install

meaning you need an (additional) 118 gigs free also on your drive to update
