Enjoyable solo?
Hello everyone.
My question is whether I can play this game alone and still master pretty much all the challenges?

I like to play survival games like this on my own and would like to know if it's worth the money if I only want to play solo.
I play games like Vallheim or Conan all solo and without problems because you can customize everything.

Yes. Ark is very possible solo, but it will require boosting rates or playing for a very, very long time. Ark is extremely grindy and solo really takes a toll on base rates.

Ark has an insane amount of customization. Most of it is though .ini file editing for gather rates, damage numbers and other settings. For singleplayer, you have a ton of settings to change in the menus before loading in, but they don't give all of the settings for you to change. Also, for singleplayer, there is a setting called "use singleplayer rates" or something similar which auto-boosts a ton of the rates for you.

Just be aware that singleplayer is extremely buggy and people have reported issues with save files when the game crashes. Also be aware you need a decent PC to run the game, UE5 is quite difficult to run.

What PC specs do you have? CPU, GPU, RAM would be most beneficial.

You can solo, I'd say fully maybe 80% of all pve and maybe 40% of pvp are solo players.

Personally I would say don't. Find friends, it's more fun. And alot easier.. a problem halved etc.. but even if you play solo, that doesn't mean you are alone.. ask for help, people will help.

I play PVE solo with an RTX 3070 TI, 32 GB (usually only about 16 GB available for Ark), i7 12700KF. I sometimes get a little lag, but in general it works well (if you don't count the unpredictable crashes and bugs like inability to save except by exit). I've adjusted some settings to make it a bit less grindy (primarily Easy difficulty). I have a few mods installed (QoL+, Automated Ark, Arkitect Structures Remastered, Der Dino Finder, Super Spyglass Plus, Super Cryo Storage, AP:Death Recovery, Custom Dino Levels [to get more high-level dinos]). I have a player on The Island and another on Scorched Earth, and I bounce between the two. I'll eventually find a server to play on with others, but for now I'm quite happy where I am.

Several mods that can help make the solo game less tedious, there are some aspects in the base game designed for PvP situations, the very long tame times is made to be stressful on a PvP server cause yer enemy might not want you to tame that Giga.

I got all of my PvP and ARK out of me years ago, so i pretty much just play solo or PvE servers now.
