You most likely need to update you graphics driver, there came a new Nvidia driver yesterday.

tried that didnt work i play 162 hours on the pc game pass edition with no crashes now since the update it crashes after five seconds

Only had one crash so far. In 4 hours.

i was really enjoying the game such a shame what platform are you playing it on

I couldt even get to the menu, game crashed as soon as i pressed play on steam

- Do a file check on steam( Will prob take 30 mins depending on your system)
- Update latest graphical drivers
- Restart your PC

i have the game on game pass for pc i did a file check ill reinstall the game after that theres nothing i can do game was fine up until this update

Do you have mods installed?
could try and delete them

This issue can be caused for a large amount of reasons, the ones i've experienced are:
-Getting rid of mods and trying to join an singleplayer ARK with mods on it
-Leaving without pressing the 'leave game' button (Only fix is delete singleplayer data)
-Using creative mode and using the blink gun.
Pretty simple fixes (Besides the second one)
Take screenshots of your mod lists (Press the PS key)
DON'T USE THE ALT F4 TRICK, IT DOES NOT WORK ON ARK ASCENDED. (On ASE it wouldn't save when you left, so you could reverse your death.)

Pretty sure it's an issue with the update. I was also able to play fine until the update, now I can't get past 5-10 minutes without a CTD. No mods. Every other game runs flawlessly. This one ran reasonably well until the latest patch.
