UPDATE:
The issue has nothing to do with anti-cheat (no need to fear server users). The real fix for me was running the game directly through steam instead of using a desktop shortcut.
If you notice steam has stopped tracking your playtime in asa then this is probably the solution for you.
I'll update again if the issue returns.
This is what I found a few days ago. I, too, also noticed the game wasn't showing up as having been played at all. I ran the game via Steam, rather than the desktop shortcut I'd been using up to now, and since then I've had no more problems. Maybe I'd made the desktop shortcut "manually", ages ago, rather than right-clicking the game in my Steam Library and making one that way. Who knows, though. I'm just glad it worked.
