The servers are high ping, blame to wildcard they are obligated to use nitrado servers, the worst in the world

I dont remember how many years the contract will last(probably 7 years), but its going to hurt

So server ping depends on a lot of things.

1. Where the server is compared to where you are at.
2. What kind of internet connection do you have?
3. Are you hard wired in or using internet off of wifi?
4. Are you playing on PC or Console?

Those are the main three things, but many other factors as well.

I am one of the server owners for a cluster in unofficial using Nitrado, and our servers do not ping at 200 ms. It absolutely has everything to do with server ping. Your location vs. the location of the server itself. If you are in Europe with limited bandwidth and you find a server in California US, its going to ping high. Even being close to the server yes, with a great computer and a great internet connection, the pings will still be a bit high. But not 200 ms. If they are getting that high of ping, there is a lot to be asked. We should wait for the person to post more specifically what they are playing on and so forth before even speculating why they see every server at 200 ms. :-)

And that has almost nothing to do with the nitrado server lag
The lag is cause by running servers with inferior outdated cpu's not able to handle the load of an ark server. On top of already being outdated junk, they actually run several instances of the dedicated server from each ♥♥♥♥ box. Which is one of the reasons they cut render to 50 meters when 25+ people populate server. FIFTY METERS. Unacceptable would be understatement.

your servers are probably not filled to the brim with structures and tames like the official ones. Join an official server and tell me what your ping is after you join if you dont believe me

Yes and that helps. our servers are not filled with people so that does help with ping. I am sure if I did join official the pings would be much higher. This is one of the many reasons why I will never play in official.

Listen up! Here's the deal. Relying on basic home or mobile internet can hold you back. Most providers focus on download speeds, leaving you stuck with high ping. Here's the secret: cache priority. It's not about raw speed; it's about getting the data you need instantly. Just ask your internet provider that you want a plan prioritize cache for a blazing-fast connection to game servers, slashing your ping to 5-10ms! BTW: Nub

That has nothing to do with Ark, the problem here is the servers, even that's why we currently have Ark 1.5 because it was released before it was ready to avoid a lawsuit

Run the Nitrado servers' IP addresses through a traceroute... then you'll understand why.

No, Nitrado host their servers on semi dedi's that are over-resourced and lack the bandwidth required to be a server hosting company. They skimp out on everything and take money leaving everyone for a fool. That is why everyone's pings are through the roof. Also, there is a lot of regions that are actually in Europe somewhere, not Oceania, or Asia
