Disable DLSS, Turn down graphics settings... WTF ?
Ok so the big selling point of ASA was it was a graphical overhaul using UE5 of ASE.

FANTASTIC !

Wait, my game crashes all the time....

WKR's reply will be buy a better system. WKR= (White Knight Rangers)

New players state they own a 4090 and it still crashes all the time.

WKR's reply will be to turn off DLSS, and to turn off graphical fidelity, like say the foliage and the water aspects.

So if the major selling point was new updated graphics using UE5, yet the WKR's all tell you to get a better system, and to shut off all the new bells and whistles... WTF was the point in getting a remake of a game that was to enhance the graphics, but just crashes all the time ?

Don't even get me started on the server issues, the lack of AMD support, the huge heating issues... OR the worst part, UE5 games run with all this turned on and they don't crash every 5-30 minutes of playing.

Also, to add to all of this mess, WC/Snail have decided to make the game P2W and to add MTX to ASA. (Macro and Micro).

But hey turn off everything, so you can have a game that looks worse than ASE and crashes even more.

the only real problem now is you can't load in at all with certain mods since the latest update, other than that you should be able to play on high everything with DLSS on balanced if your computer is 5 years old or less. if you use r.VolumetricCloud.SampleMinCount 10 | r.VolumetricCloud.ViewRaySampleMaxCount 32 | r.VolumetricRenderTarget.Mode 3 then you can free up another 10fps and the game still looks great, just reduces how hardcore the settings for volumetric clouds are but if you turn them off, the game looks like ♥♥♥♥ with no atmosphere, they just don't need to run at 300% what "normal" would be is all

Yeah yer missing the point... having to turn off graphical improvements means the ASA upgrade was pointless. Still crashes.

the WKRs are just rabid idiotic fanbois. Its cuz of people like them that these game companies get away with this crap.

Cannot agree with you more, hell i was one in ASE, i freely admit it.

WKR's do not understand that WC/Snail will fail if they do not take the criticism seriously and try to backtrack and actually make the game run. No WC/Snail .... mo more ASA.

i said set it all to high and use that macro to turn down volumetric clouds since they're set to 300% of any other game right now. what i said was useful to anyone wanting to improve their situation, but won't help the folks who just wanna complain about the jankiness

Ok point taken, but it still crashes, even if the clouds are reduced, that's with my computer that has a 3090 (wife gets the poopy system), and on my other computer that has a 7900xTx. so either way i have a fairly high end system on either team RED or team Green. If someone says a 3090 is not a high end card, go try to buy one, and tell me thats a cheap card.

they are not getting away with it. player base is dropping over past 6 months.

Yea. Cuz they all moved on to play Palworld *that did Unreal 5 correctly* and Enshrouded.

Well i just tried it after letting it sit, hoping that certain bugs would be fixed.. nope, still floating rocks, entire hillsides of them, tree's being up out of the ground, I've got a system that runs every other game on epic settings, but this i have to run on low? like what the hell, crashes more than i can play, glitches gallor.. I think this game will sit until they either fix it, or I forget it, probably won't buy any DLC until it gets fixed. not a good start.

and the people who dont want to take advice are rabid idiots. No difference between the two really, except for the fact that most of them CAN play the game without an issue.

DLSS works fine for me, frame gen does not. It's been vastly improved compared to ~2 months ago.

Thought DLSS was frame gen ?

Optical Multi Frame Generation was introduced in DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and generates frames using AI to analyze “two sequential in-game images and calculates motion vector data for objects and elements that appear in the frame” The frames are fed into a neural network along with engine and optical flow motion vectors to produce a combined DLSS-generated, with DLSS 3 said to boost frame rates by up to 4x when compared to non DLSS methods.

Oh yeah it is, so i don't understand you.

it's 2 separate features, my 2070s has DLSS but not frame generation and it literally tells you in game where you change DLSS settings if you don't have it available

They are separate things. Super Sampling creates a higher resolution from a lower resolution source, frame generation creates "in between" frames based on assumptions rather than source. Very different.

It's just that Nvidia used a silly name for its frame gen by calling it a VERSION of DLSS. In the game you can select them seperately, you can enable DLSS but not enable frame gen and it's that frame gen that caused me issues in the past (no idea if it still does, it might be fixed).
