When developers think about updating the graphics engine to version 5.4, Epic Games will have already released version Unreal Engine 6.0 Hahaha!
My system is similar to yours, I have a Ryzen 5 3600 OC in 4.45Ghz All Cores with 32GB ram 4X8 Dimms at 3600Mhz CL16 and a 3080 10GB GPU 2Ghz Core and Mem 21.6Ghz. My screen is an LG 4K 120Hz Oled, practically I have to always use DLSS, especially on the ASA. Even with a system like mine, trying to play with DLSS Performance against native 4K will only give me a 15 fps boost, I'll go from 25-30 fps in native 4K to 40 fps with Dlss Performance, upscaling from FullHD to 4K, which I already not very good for a 42 Inch screen. Playing in Low/Medium Graphics Settings.
Unreal Engine games are famous for using a lot of RAM speed, I did what I could to maximize the speed of my memory as best as possible with my current processor, the game's processing itself doesn't have as heavy a load as other games , for example Helldivers 2.
Unreal Engine is famous for taking better advantage of memory speed and processor bandwidth and latency with memories.
I can play Fortnite with High general settings and High Lumen RayTracing Hardware with Nanite and DLSS 4K Performance above 80FPS ranging from 90 to 100FPS.
Use MSI Afterburner and apply a curve optimized OC. I have a 4090, 7900x CPU, and 64GB 6000 Mhz CL30 RAM and OC to resolve stuttering. I also use the game overlay to compare CPU vs. GPU usage. Ideally your GPU should be between %90-%99. Below %75 likely indicates a bottleneck. My system is typically at %95+ GPU, %25 CPU, ~30GB RAM usage.
You may also want to consider a EXPO I or Expo II profile in your bios for full memory utilization if you haven't already. Id research what is best for your system.
My MB also allowed for AI OC of the CPU which is the lazy mans way to OC but I'm not looking to hit any benchmark leaderboards
Also used this guide to update Ark dlss files

Last when testing game performance, reset the graphics to default in the main menu and tweak from there then go to the tab with the dlss settings and make sure scale is at %100 after tweaking those settings. For my setup I get a lot more weird flashing if not at 100.
My son runs the same computer and settings and as the host of the non-dedicated sessions he averages around 40 fps.
Come winter I won't have to heat the bedroom. The computer keeps it toasty warm when I'm playing ARK Ascended.
Well, for understanding, ARK currently does not have support for RayTracing, much less Hardware Lumen, it is just Software Lumen and a lot of poor optimization.
I mean, with the hardware we have nowadays, GPUs have built-in hardware to generate accelerated raytracing graphics in real time without losing much efficiency and performance, I mean, if ARK Ascended had Lumen Hardware it would be able to perform better for a large part of GPUs than Software Lumen.
An example of this is Fortnite, with Lumen Software Fortnite stutters a lot for me, despite also not having very good quality compared to Lumen Hardware when RayTracing is enabled in the game, the game simply works much better, the stuttering practically goes away and This gives me much better visual quality with performance equal to Lumen Software or even better!
But as Ark Ascended is a great, open-world game and there is not so good optimization, currently Lumen Hardware would probably only cause insane memory leaks and crashes.
If it stays constant at 99 you are getting bottlenecked
Surpassing your graphics card vram limit can lead to a range of issues such as crashes, world not rendering, lower fps etc
I think you need an absolute minimum of 12 gb worth of vram in order to run this game fine.
If you have a mid range budget you should never buy nvidia, ever. Nvidia is for high enders.
I have a very high end pc and can legit not remember the last time my game crashed. I don't think this is the game's fault but your system. Play survival evolved and you''ll be fine because it's way less system heavy
i run 4070 ti super and a I7-13700 and runs perfectly normal, even at high graphics 120+ fps
