Pyromane is an optional creature, if you want it buy the dlc, if not don't do it.

Studio Wildcard is a really great software house and ARK (both versions) are really good games; they take care of ours opinions, they still improve and support the game; and don't forget that buying the base game give to you access to all expansions and maps.

This new dlc way is userfull to support them and their work, i'm happy to support them.

It's simple for you to judge, like the toxic community usually do, but it's clear you don't know what means to create a videogame, specially all-gameplay based one; yes Ark Ascended is a remake but they worked so hard to make it, to improve all the mechanics and to adapt all to new technologies, it's really a big challenge.

I remember to you that you pay the base game and you have access to all maps and expansions and a lot of new free creatures; same thing for ARK SE. That's amazing in these days.

Anyway i repeat: DLC like Bob or Pyromane are optionals, you don't need them to enjoy the game; if you don't like this DLC way to support Wildcard, just don't buy them, it's simple.
And this is not a bad thing instead of games with skin shop or other stupid similar.

You do realize ASE with all dlc costs the same if not less than what they charge u for ASA and its not like they changed much other than the graphics, the AI is still trash (even worse than ASE imo), all QOF changes were pretty much mods they copied since they were popular or stuff that should have been in ASE in the first place, everyone crashes every couple of hours and they made the cave loot drops overpowered af for PVP completely eliminating a whole role that used to exist in teams, the only good change was having no running speed upgrades imo. If they worked so hard to make this game as you say why does it play exactly the same as ASE and Atlas with extremely minimal changes if it took them as long and as much work as you say it did then they are at least incompetent and should not be asking for a high price tag to begin with. Also having the DLC is needed if you want to have fun playing PVP in the game otherwise you will get no enjoyment being raided by the people that do have it only because they have a bigger wallet than you. It seems to me that you are very emotionally invested in this matter prolly because u work for a company like this one and you are acting almost like we are insulting your own piece of work or smth

The point isn't that we want it for free it's that we dont want people to gain an advantage from it and also that it could have been free if the devs had made the right decisions

This could have already been included at no cost as part of the base game but it wont because of people like you. 1.You do realize this is still in EA?

2.Instead of them working to fix issues with the game we keep getting more "optional/DLC" on top of the paid mods which is also another revenue stream for them.

3.We all can see where their priority is at.

4.That's not how contracts work buddy. You get paid as per your contract the only thing that could possibly be impacted would be bonuses.
You don't rely on sales to get paid.

Your hot take is garbage, stop simping for wildcard. We all love the game, and the overwhelming majority of us are fine with cosmetics. What we're NOT OKAY with is PAY TO WIN aspects of the game. are they getting revenue from each "map" release? no, all maps are free downloads
So DLCS is there only revenue from this game outside of the base game purchase.

they are bringing you new maps for free....we paid once...and thats it.

all they asking for is 5$ for there time for a new dino....and thats optional.

its a business....business = money and they are not asking for hardly anything in return.

and the pyromane is worth it by the way, it has tons of abilities, more than shadowmane....and its fun to light things on fireeeeee

no we didnt need to pay for the maps, oh wait... yes we did when we payed for the base game they advertised as containing ALL DLC's

also the dino is not optional, it is integrated into the base game as is its constant advertisements to state if u dont own it... but wait i can still appear and kill you in your single player! amazing option that is... right? either buy it and use it, or dont buy it and die to it... jokes on us.

If you business is forced to release paid DLC to stay afloat, you failed as a game developer (looking at Payday 3 and ASA). Always price your product for the value and profit.

ASA proves, once again, the live service model is a cancer that needs to go.

No one's crying about it if they're just saying "I'm not gonna buy it".

No one's crying about it if they're just leveling legitimate critiques -- such as "pay $5 and have the best caving dino in the game right now". Doesn't PvP happen quite a bit in caves?

And definitely no one's crying about it if they're saying "just sell me some cosmetics instead -- we wanna support you but not like this".

And if you buy it? Cool. Have fun with it. But I don't want it. That should be cool by you too. Right?
