Graphics still look bad at epic???
ive got the game maxed out but there are noticeable issues that ruin the point of having "nice" Graphics, shadows moving at a lower frame rate ? ground clutter popping up relatively nearby, some shadowing on tree leaves looks dodgy, not to mention all the floating rocks

is there a way to fix any of these issues ?

There is no reason to run this game on epic, it wont do anything for you at all. Ark: Survival Ascended has optimization problems that need to be addressed for better performance. Updating graphics drivers and disabling certain settings like volumetric clouds and fog can improve FPS. You can try these setting if you want to and it will help the game some ... ie: r.volumetricfog 0 Hit Enter than this one! r.volumetriccloud 0 Hit Enter I do these myself and it dose help allot with the game play. Try turning things down to low and then work at it until you have it where to want it.

i appreciate your response but FPS wasnt my issue, game runs fine, its the graphics. this game was sold to me on the basis of improved immersion mainly due to improved graphics, but they look like crap

Are you running it off an SSD/NVME?
i am, its an lexar PCIE 4 NVME drive

my specs are decently good for this game
i5 12400f
32gb ram
RTX 3060ti
i should clarify, im running Medium Textures and DLSS quality to avoid Vram issues, no matter the settings weather i focus on LOD, like render distance folliage, or if i focus on shadows settings like Shadows, Advanced graphics and (forgot the name) basically the AO setting, these issues persist

even if i try dropping some GPU settings like resolution and drop DLSS even further these issues persist, ive tried a fresh install along with a fresh download of windows, Ive read online there are some game codes i can put in to fix the LOD distance, firstly that shouldnt be the case but secondly that doesnt fix the shadow issues

You're very under the specs "recommended" by Wildcard... RTX 3080.

not by a significant amount, as i mentioned even at sub 720 resolutions and low Vram settings these issues persist

Something I do to resolve most visual issues is this
From main menu (Not in game) go to settings/graphics and reset graphics to default.
Set graphics settings as desired
in the RTX menu, make sure the scale is at %100. If grayed out turn dlss off, set to 100, then turn back on. IDK if FG is available for you but I have this on as well

There seems to be certain settings that when modified in game, are inherited from the server. I've tested this same process in game and seen settings such as scale set to that which is specified in the servers GUS.ini
Doing this from the main menu has shown better results for me.

Some of the setting/menu names may be wrong. I'm not in game so don't remember exact menu structure

just turn off water/foliage physics, it will give you 20-30fps just for that. that's the #1 issue with ark right now, you can run epic everything on a 5 year old computer at 1080 with DLSS quality if you turn off the physics. other than not moving the grass or water when you walk in it, which i don't care about at all, it might make more of those floating greeble things happen but they happen anyway.

4080 super, 980 pro, no problems like that here...

The floating rocks are consistent in some areas seems to just be lazy map making, the lower shadow framerate doesnt always appear and seems to happen in dense forests or randomly
ground pop in was the only issue fixed for me

This is an UE issue. Its a popular engine because its flexible but it has a lot of overhead because is it not optimized for a specific type of game or hardware. It also is notorious for aggressive asset loading. Even AAA games will have some degree of trouble with optimization because the engine its not designed for a specific type of game. There will always be some issues object culling,, level streaming, LOD transitions despite nanite adding virtualized geometry.
Some people are not as sensitive to these things but others are which is why you will constantly hear people go back and forth about noticing or not noticing these issues. However, if you monitor UE games with comprehensive software such as NVIDIA FrameView, you will see the performance metrics are never great.

i will look into that, i appreciate the genuine response, sick of hearing it doesnt look like that on my system response haha
post processing epic is the cause
set it to low
asa's post processing is broken. litterly set it to low and everything is clear. up it bit by bit and watch it get worst
