Found a cave, survived spiders ok but then bats bit me and could not stop my health going down, stim did nothing.

Onycs don't give you venom, they can infect you with Mega rabies, which drains your health significantly unless you drink a lesser antidote. Megalania can also give you mega rabies. Its a chance to be inflicted with the disease, so being bit won't always guarantee you get it and increasing fortitude is supposed to increase your resistance to disease, but as far as I was aware fortitude is kinda of broken in asa atm.
