High Ping on Official Servers

I've mostly stuck to single player mode for the majority of my time in this game. However, thought of trying official PvP server for once. It started off fairly stable, with ping around 100ms. But for the past couple of days or so, I have been noticing 200-500 ms ping, and sometimes even nearly 800 at times. There is so much rubber-banding issues, can't even run away from alpha carnos or stuff, keep getting stuck while trying to chase a dino, etc. Moreover can't even go to a cliff, bob keeps walking for a second or two even after I stopped pressing W, and goes over the cliff or stuff. After investing so much time in a server it is sad that it is nearly unplayable. It seems to also have a hitch once every 3-5 seconds with a framerate drop, from a good 50-60 fps to 8-10 fps.

Speedtests online indicate ping anywhere between 11-60ms. And I am not sure if there are any ways I can improve ping. I am pretty sure this is not an issue with my network, and the nitrado servers are just crappy. Isn't there any way to get a better performance?
