ASE is worth it if they ever put it back on sale again. ASA is not. And to be perfectly honest as long as they continue to keep ASE off the Steam sale list as far as I am concerned I am keeping ASA off the buy list. I vote them down with my wallet mates.

Right now ASA is just one map - The Island. That is is. You have NO other DLC map at all. Hardly any mods to go with it either. Due to the fact that there are no maps you are limited to the BAREBONES dinos on The Island map.

ASA planned map release's go all the way to 2025 on the roadmap with Fjordur being the last to release map in 2025... but lets be honest... with the map delays recently... it will be 2027 before we probably see fjordur on ASE, its that bad.

Not only that ASA plans on adding in MORE paid DLC at the end of April for Scorched earths release - Wild West Pack - which adds in TRAINS, COWBOY ARMOUR and A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HUGE DINOSAUR called OASISAUR.... pathetic we need to pay for MORE content.

ASE is 100% worth it, full price and or on sale. It has the content to support it and a multitude of mods.

It kinda depends on your PC, if you are on a low to mid range system you will end up with so many settings lowered ASA will look worse than ASE does. Ive had ASA unistalled since Nov and have no plans on reinstalling it in till some new maps come out.

Devs are liars and incompetents. This "graphical upgrade" was PROMISED to be free to A: SE owners as you know. All it does is crash constantly on high end hardware. Ironically its more stable on old PC setups, but at graphic settings which make it look worse than the original.
Anti-consumer, liars, incompetent (still has 9 year old bugs present in the first early access release of A:SE unfixed).
Save you money for literally anything else.

yeah the game is worth it if you want to play it at all. good survival mechanics, runs great on my 5 year old rig even with everything on high, i haven't had a crash in hundreds of hours, no bad saves, just comes down to whether you wanna play the island map or not. every single person having crashing problems is doing something wrong or too incompetent to troubleshoot mods, doesn't consider load order or overlapping changes with mods, etc. i'm playing with 30-40 mods, about 25 new dinosaurs, everything is fine. new update and new devkit are both out now and the bug from earlier in the week with some mods causing a crash on startup are no longer an issue.

the massive whine campaing against it is just whiny little nerds looking for something to rail against that they don't have to put any actual skin in the game. official forums are where the crybabies mostly hang out and even if you help them fix their janky computer, they blame everyone and everything else for their computer being maintained poorly. high end games aren't for low end IQs

80% of the people raging are just salty, 20% of them have real issues. Majority of ppl crying here don't even HAVE the game.

If you have ASE atm and you have an active server etc just keep doing that, if you're new to Ark or you like Ark but haven't played in a long time you have to start fresh anyway and you have a good PC then might as well get ASA.

it's not worth the content, it's frustratingly clunky compared to ASE, much laggier, nothing was upgraded except building which could have just been added to ASE instead and there's no new content it's barebones and boring
