Regarding Gigantoraptor being a mod: It allows us more time and flexibility when working with a cross platform environment and ensures we can be quicker to respond to issues should they arise. We'll eventually be merging the Gigantoraptor back to the base/core game in a future update.
Translation, they opted for the fast mod port in only(ie not to cook into the base game as they lead people to believe) and its likely to be still apart of the center map when released months from now(or kited longer).
Used car salesman advertises buy a car and get a set of 4 free other tires with the car. You believe that means new tires or perhaps even good used extra tires to switch out later and think its a good deal.
You buy a car(lemon really you'll end up learning later) and when you dont see the four free tires and ask about em, the oily haired, mismatched suit salesman goes around back and grabs 4 dry rotted tires from a smelly pile and throws them into the trunk of the car and says, "here you go"
That's about what's happened here.
