Cannot deploy, no nearby cryofridge ready

Can someon please explain the cryopod function. I have seen youtube movies about players throwing cryopods everywhere (top of mountains) to spawn dinos, When I try I get the message from the subject here.

Can anyone explain?

You need the fridge nearby to use cryos now, so you basically only get to use them where you establish a base. I was confused because I took a hiatus and came back thinking my mod was broken. idk if the mod is an option for you but id consider.

if you are on pc or a server you can edit the inis for, there are a few configs you can use:
EnableCryosicknessPVE=False
DisableCryopodEnemyCheck=True
AllowCryoFridgeOnSaddle=True
DisableCryopodFridgeRequirement=True

OMG. Why the hell is this an option then, only to carry dinos between bases? Stupid! I'm runnig ARK on GeforceNOW so the INI file is not an option for me :(

Then try to carry a fridge and a foundation with you. Inside caves for example, you can build a foundation at several places and then build the carried fridge on the foundation. Then you should be able to drop dinos out of cryopods in range of the fridge.

The dev team thought it would be a good idea to ruin what few features work on this game. This should come as no surprise, but the devs of this game and the previous iteration are some of the most backwards, inexperienced developers in the industry. And, in an industry already plagued by incompetence, it's almost as hard to be the worst developer as it is the best. Somehow this team managed it, though.

Yes add to the GameUserSettings.ini file in the [ServerSettings] section

These are the ones I have

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\Windows

("C" if ASA is installed on your "C" disk)

It's annoying, it's to slow down pvp.. as usual wc don't care about pve players.

You ideally need Scorched Earth map dlc, you get a wind generator, the fridge. Plonk the power down, the fridge next to it, then wait 5 minutes. Why? Noone knows.. to further frustrate the player probably. Then you can deploy in a small area around the fridge.

It is as usual badly implemented poorly thought out wildcard policy to ruin ark asa as much as possible.

We go from crazy genesis features to this bs. its already boring as hell replaying the same old maps, but lets remove some major features while we're at it. ♥♥♥♥ devs

they totally fukced up this concept. you now need a Cryofridge to take your tames out, which i find absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculus

we were conned into buy this piece of garbage of a game...they should've left well enough alone.
