CRASH FIX for RTX users
Disable "FRAME GENERATION" under the RTX settings menu.
Ive been following a lot of threads and have dialed it down to this one fix. I can keep everything at max settings and turn off this one thing and all crashes have stopped. I use a 4090. :LIS_pixel_heart:
Enjoy the game now. And for those whose problems are fixed with this you are welcome.:LIS_butterfly:

I use frame generation on with an older nvidia driver on my 4090 which works fine. AFAIK only later/latest driver versions have issues. I want to have it on because I want to play this with more like 60fps locked. Frame generation on lets me play in 60-120fps in 1440p max details. Without frame generation it is not fun.
That said I don't know if they fixed frame generation in latest Nvidia drivers. Please let me know if that's the case.

or WildCard can just fix the issue, but clearly they don't care.

I recently bought this trash, and it crashes non stop. They need to fix the issue, I'm not going to jump through hoops and waste my time unless they start paying me.

I also use a 4090, no problems with using frame generation and DLSS Quality. Every 'extra' setting on.

The thing that fixed crashing for me was to not have RTSS (Rivatuner) running in the background or GeForce Experience installed while playing ASA.

Also on a 4090, I've been using the studio driver v546.33 wo GF experience. The latest driver seems to have introduced crashes so I reverted back. Been playing in 4k RTX on, ultra settings with global illumination on low for a 10+fps boost and can play with a solid 60 -100 FPS. I dont use rivia often but haven't noticed issues. Once a week I may get a crash but at this point my biggest issue is I'm board with the island

Some things to try if you see issues.
Try the above driver after using DDU to clean any old drivers without installing GF experience
Try these commands in the steam Ark run properties (-norhithread -useallavailablecores)
Disable any overlays (Steam, Windows, etc.) My headphones software even has one SMH
*disabling the windows game bar was tricky, had something to do with app changing permissions
If overclocking try running stock
EvilReFlex Jan 28, 2024 @ 1:13am
I also have crashes without it, but very rarely.

What a mindless thing to come out with - People need FG to make the game smooth or its 30s fps max setting at 2k to 4k for many.

You can diasble Foliage & Fluid Interaction and cap you fps to 100 or 90 to play with Frame Generation On

It worked for me and i stopped crashing

Honestly I still get 60fps easily…playing in 4k maxed settings without frame generation.

I have an RTX 3080 Ti
I can see frame generation in the settings but it is darkened out and set to off.
I tried changing the other settings but none will undarken the 'frame generation' setting
I still get freezes and crashes, nothing anyone has recommended has fixed it yet.
I am playing on Linux (only), but it doesn't seem like that makes a difference based on the majority on windows having all the same problems and more.

The 3090 does not have frame generation.

I fixed by issues for now by turning the foliage settings to the lowest settings. Every update seems to make crashing worse.
