Why you shouldn't buy ascended and stay on evolved instead.
don't buy it stay on ark evolved i made a big mistake buying this garbage, evolved has better graphics/fps ratio if you really want to enjoy the game stay on evolved as it's way more stable, more playable and have better quality and smoother. The only plus on ascended is Overall graphic quality but for the cost of massive performance decrease and lots of glitches.
i have 120+ fps on evolved and on ascended i only get 60+ fps for even worse quality. thats a damn joke. PLus just let the stats and the community speak for itself, evolved have still 2x more playerbase than ascended, most dumb people like me who bought ascended left it now.

If you have both games, then go back to ASE. Clearly this isnt for you... yet. I myself havent "left" ASA to go back to ASE.... but I am playing other good games while waiting for more ASA map content to arrive. I played ALL the ASE content already years ago. . . and I'll be back to try them in ASA when they come out.

Hey I bought No Mans Sky back when it was terrible... my mistake... but it became great so I dont regret that purchase at all. You shoulda thought more carefully before you jumped in, perhaps?

I dont believe this purchase will have been a bad one for you... eventually. ASA is the path forward for Snail/Wildcard and that is what they are working on; and ASE is not any more. Go enjoy ASE for now.... but one day you'll be back on ASA.

ASA runs fine for me, but the game itself will give you real life cancer, from bug stress.
Just stay on ASE and stop giving such dirty companies money.

Well ASE has been showing daily recently to be having more players than ASA. Here's a side by side comparison:

I have both, what I dont have and never did have is a server for ASE even though i put in over 1k hours it just never got me to drop the money to rent one. I have not only rented a server for ASA i have went out cheer leading to past guildies, and you know what? The ones who have joined are having a blast and at the end of the day that is all that matters.

Sounds like you need a better graphics card dude.

Commenting on a post over a year old. You must be new here.
I couldn't go back to ASE if I wanted. The quality of life changes such as picking up walls, high stone walls, the babies going around, the HUD indicators for dinosaurs and tames, etc.

There are several deal-breaking improvements for me. I also have a GPU that provides adequate performance (for now, I have a new PC waiting to be put together).

The new patch has unlocked my GPU bottleneck and I've gone from 40 to 60 FPS in 1440P.

The OP's CPU is too old and they probably don't have a good GPU. I've heard rumors a 4070 is necessary to even consider playing ASA.

I have a 4070 Ti running with an Intel I7 10700K. My CPU is not good enough, but the relieving of the bottleneck has really helped.

Why am I the only one getting good results out of the patch?

Also, I know buying new hardware to accommodate quirks in software is bad, but just buy a 2TB NVME SSD like I did. It's a lot less expensive than it used to be and you'll thank yourself later.
My GPU's utilization went from 80% to 99 and 100 since the patch.

It used to run ridiculously low temps due to the bottleneck. I thought it was my old CPU, but it was the game.

I now run normal temps.

I likely still have bottlenecking, but the game's contribution is gone.
I now realize how old this post is, but I consider this still a relevant issue.
