Consistent Crashing
Was wondering if anyone knows a fix other than uninstalling to stop these crashes...
sometimes i can play for a few hours others i crash everytime i join.
Vanilla/modded result in the same thing...

Things i've tried:
-Reinstalling
-lowering graphic settings + ingame commands
-disabling menu transitions
-useallcores command line in the properties ( erasing this seemed to help for a bit)
-Run Without Anticheat
-verifying integrity of files.

Specs -
Rtx 3060 12gb
i9-9900k
32gb ddr4 3200mz

at this point I'm not sure what else I can do without making the game look worse than max settings on ASE :/

I have the game on an M.2 NVME drive. My GPU is a Liquid cold EVGA FTW3 GTX 1080it 11GB of VRam & Over clock to It's max. I play on a 4k monitor 4096 x 2160 but I play it on 2560 x 1440. ( 4K-1440) I use mix settings and get 100 fps highs & lows of 40 FPS. That said, I have a friend I play with, He plays on a EVGA FTW3 RTX 3090 Ti with an i9-12900k, 32gb ram & plays on epic settings. He was only getting high 45fps and lows of 14fps. He plays in full 4K. I've told him to dial down his resolution to 4k- 1440 to get better performance. He is like you and does not understand why he can't play every game under the sun on epic settings lol. It comes down to The servers. They need to be fine tuned. They are unstable and so is their network connection. The more the server has to render for every player on the server simultaneously the harder the server works. They are not optimized to handle the traffic and the many handshakes between player's systems and their servers, So there are lags every time a new player logs on. { Now with that said, if you go to your STEAM launcher right click on ARK SA go down and click on properties . A window will open, scroll all the way down where you will see ( Advanced Users May Choose to Enter Modifications to their Launchers Operations.) In the empty box past -USEALLAVAILABLECORES . It will tell the game to uses every core you have to help with the game. There is more you can do to help in you NVIDIA control panel's global settings to fine tune your system to run the game and other applications you may be running at the same time. If you want the info on that hit me up, I will send you the info. But the best thing you can do is to over clock your system in your bios, start with your XMP profiles for your RAM Lookup your motherboard to see what you need to do. Then find your card's over clocking software or use a third-party software, like MSI afterburner or EVGA's Precision software. } I hope you finds this helpful. Hang in there, you are not alone. We are all having these issues.

hey i already have XMP set up properly I think im what were the nvidia options you mentioned? im interested in trying that...

3 most common fixes have been
1. disable fluid/foliage interaction
2. disable menu transitions
3. disable DLSS

This seem to have worked. Thank you!

The game is buggy with crashes, pity because its got potential. However the constant crashes makes it a brick of a game

Same issues here. I run a 4060 ti + 12th Gen i7 CPU. I have no issues with other games like Cyberpunk, AC Mirage, Valhalla etc. All running mint.. i can even play ASE with no issues... When the game runs it runs well and looks dreamy, all I do is turn clouds off, and leave fog on. but, you just don't know if the game will launch or when it will crash. i'm constantly saving, and more focused on that than playing the game! If you're on a flyer, make sure you land before saving

Another fine quality release from WildClowns.

I install about once a month to see if any of the handful of bugs since launch have been fixed. I played about 2 hours and crashed 3 times.

They are buried in debt, can't code their way out of a dumpster on fire, expect ZERO fixes. They are full steam ahead to their next paid release.

Possible solution :
disable inventory interaction (in UI options)
deactivates foliage interaction (you will see stones floating or misaligned)

Global illumination on Low or Medium (on high or Epic it throws errors, I don't know why)

For me particularly, it helped

greetings !

Hello, I don't have a problem with frequent crashes...I sometimes have a freeze them when I reappear in the game, yes it's certain that the optimization leaves something to be desired, but in any case for me the game remains "playable".. on The Island for the moment...
Then I host my own unofficial server nitrado without mod, I play two players with an RTX 2070 GDDR6 8GB laptop, and an i7 10750H, 16go ram, with a external SSD
in 1980 res, and I run between 29 and 38 fps without frequents freezes or bugs, sometimes I go down to 21. I sometimes crash once a day in 5 hours of play, sometimes not at all.
My computer is 3-4 years old

I don't use a console command to disable clouds or fog, here are my settings:

Ark (steam) launch settings:
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -high -maxMem=8192 -malloc=system -cpuCount=10 (for me is 6) -exThreads=16 (for me 12) -no-singlethreaded -forcenovsync

Put your antivirus in game mode and/or authorized Ark Ascended
(I disable Battlecheat on my server, maybe that's it?)

update your Gforce processor and driver

in nvidia settings:

3D Settings:

Add Ark Survival Ascended in 3D settings by locating the .exe executable in your steam files

then program settings:

threaded optimization: enabled
vertical sync: disabled

in your task manager settings, go to ArkAscended.exe, right click, go to compatibility, and check: disable full screen mode optimizations

Apply

Locate the GameUserSettings.ini (the path for this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\Windows though depends on where you have installed the game) and search around for 'Vsync'. If not there, add VSyncMode=0 (if present this may be a higher value). Then find bUseVSync= and adjust it to bUseVSync=True

In game my graphics settings are:

Resolution 1920x1080
Windowed full screen
Advanced Graphics: Medium
View distance: high
Textures: high
Post-processing: medium
General shadows: high
Global Lighting Quality: High
Effect quality: low
Foliage quality: high
Motion Blur: Off
Light Flower: Off
Light Trees: Enabled
Low Light Enhancement: Enabled
Foliage interaction: enabled
Multiplier and limit, 2, 2, 2
Particles foot: on and on and on
disable log:enabled
3D widget quality: 0.5

RTX:

Nvidia DLSS enabled
mode: performance
(framegen not supported)
Nvidia low latency: ON

I'm on Windows 10, maybe I'm lucky, in any case good luck to you

To return to previous settings, replace true with false in gameusersetting.ini etc..
restore defaults value nvidia ark ascended if this is causing you a problem with loss of FPS
for the steam launch settings, simply delete the lines or replace them

(Sorry if it's hard to read, I use google translate)
(These are little guides that I found on the internet for some, and thank you to them)

Did you replace the 2070 Super with a 3060? This game is far more demanding then Evolved or Conan btw, which both run UE4.

I think we need to stop believing the nonsense that a lot of players say... when we hear that Ark Ascended doesn't launch on old cards lower than the Nvidia 40 series

The game lacks optimization just like ark evolves upon its release, and this is noticeable... artifact problems, flickering day and night, etc... The game is not as "magnificent" as we think . I imagine it's certainly very engaging since it's an open world where you can interact with everything possible... but the details aren't as in-depth as one might hope. imagine... I even find that they are a bit caricatured on the details. And “cartoon” games have never been as difficult as those with a realistic objective.

The problem being that Wildcard rushed ARK's release, and the fact that they pushed it back multiple times meant that they weren't quite ready, but were pressed for time.

Ark Ascended won't run on older graphics cards, that's for sure, but at least on a low-speed GTX 1060 6GB, an average of 20-40 fps playing alone at 1366 x 768 resolution should do the job. affair. affair. affair.
15 years ago, it was even possible to play low-resolution video games with its chipset. We forget that UE5 has better support than UE4, and that the Ascended arc in UE5 is similar to UE4 or even worse visually in low quality.

Currently, even on 1366x768 support, ark slows down, ark crash, ark bug... on cards like an RTX 2060 and beyond and even on desktops.

Personally, I'm not going to buy an RTX 40 just to play Ark Ascended in 4K, especially since 4K on a 20-25 inch screen is useless because you won't see the difference between 2K and 4K. . it's a bit like phones between 20mgpx and 50... it's the processing software and the graphics panel that makes all the difference..
In PvP it is certain that each FPS is important, personally I don't like PvP and it doesn't serve me

I have 2 high end pc's, one is my wifes and one is mine. Both of us struggled with this issue and tried every damn fix under the sun on reddit, google and steam. NONE of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ should be considered a fix! took pc's to a repair guy i know and told him i wanna play this game fix it! 24 hours later he called me saying come into the shop. i did and watched asa play for an hour on all epic settings, got them home and been playing over 200 hours on epic no crashes. Turns out the preinstalled windows OS was (archaic) even after updates. he wiped it all and installed a good windos os off of his flash drive, did the updaTES AND BAM FIXED THE WHOLE DAMN ISSUE. he said ark asa is poorly coded and if 1 small lil thing is wrong with your pc then it wont asa wont function. So 1 unknown corrupt file in the os that no other program had issues with and you would never know it existed, ASA will and wont like it.
