Player Name Change

I forgot to change my name from Human upon entering an Unofficial Server. I was then Asked to either change my name from human or leave the server. I can i change my name ?
I don't mind re-rolling my charter but i just cant figure out how to change my name.

Yes it is possible... you have to make yourself die. Then, on the window that comes up where you can choose your spawning location, click on the "Create new character" button. Of course, this will erase your existing character, but at this time it is the only way to change your name.

I have also forgotten to change my name, but i have tamed some dinos and i have built a base. When I erase the existing character, do I lose my stuff too? Or is it still in my tribe?

Get in touch with the admin for the unofficial server you are on, admin commands can fix it all

That is not entirely correct. Admins can rename characters. I have had to do that for players on my unofficial cluster running for about 3 years.

The command is: cheat RenamePlayer <"PlayerName"> <NewName>

just ask server admin.
Only admins can change players names and everything You need without creating new character and losing progress. Its easy and fast. Anyway, of coarse, You can find another server with good settings and admins...
There about 30 000 different unofficial servers so it should be not hard to do
