Cryopods
What is the deal with not being able to deploy cryopoded dinos without being in range of a cryofridge? That kinda ruins the complete purpose and value of the cryopods in my view. I say this because I use cryopods as a transportation of dinos to obs, caves, and basically everything else. Now with them only being able to be deployed in range of a powered cryofridge, all they are good for is base management. Anyone agree?

Yeah that kind of sucks

It just makes no sense. I was so excited to get them back until I tried to toss out a rex
Yeah I was too but then I heard you can't throw them out unless you're near a fridge
I get that it is for PVP but it does not make any sense I think there is a setting where you can change it so you can throw them out if you're not near a fridge but I don't know how
I heard a YouTuber say

I poked around a bit and found these cryopod settings
EnableCryopodNerf=True
CryopodNerfIncomingDamageMultPercent=0
CryopodNerfDuration=0
EnableCryoSicknessPVE=False
DisableCryopodEnemyCheck=True
AllowCryoFridgeOnSaddle=True
DisableCryopodFridgeRequirement=True

I'm not sure if there are other or if these are default settings, but the last one is FridgeRequirement. I'd try setting that to false. GameUserSettings.ini under ServerSettings.
or a 2 minute video.

Thank you

They have all these restriction because of players abusing them.
I dont know what WildCard has in mind for cryopods. But it has nothing to do with singleplayer.
There "Singleplayer Setting" should have
No summoning sickness
Summoning near cryofridge (If you want to add that okay, "I guess" I could make cryofridges around the map but why the hell do I have to wait 5 mins so start deploying to only wait "2 mins?" to deploy each individual tame.
So in theory, to deploy an army for fight a boss, I have to wait about 45 mins just to deploy my army. That doesnt even include prep time and travel. Thats literally 45 mins of waiting, just waiting because you cant really do much in a 2 min interval. It is a waste of time and really makes me not want to play.

Now I see a post that apparently will fix the problem but as Ive said in other posts, I shouldnt have to change anything to play. I should just jump on a play without changing setting especially if its on singleplayer settings and everything should work fine and smooth. You dont even have the option in settings to change any cryo settings.

WildCard, you got a clean slate and a brand new game from scratch. Thank you for fixing the breeding but you still got a lot of work to do. Clean it up.

It would be nice if they moved it out of SP but I wouldn't count on it as not everybody will want that box to modify it. It would also be nice if it was done differently than a single checkbox with non disclosed settings that isn't customize-able. I agree that using ini files isn't the best way to go about it, but they did make them very clear and easy to modify. I shudder to think what the in game setting menu would be if everything that could be changed was represented there, 30 minutes later you still haven't found the correct slider and it's worded poorly when you do. I don't think that WC reads these forums at all, and the players can only do so much to help you get it to play the way you want it o even if it's a roundabout way. I'm grateful we are able to change to so much with a little ini fiddling.

Yeah, Im a PvE player myself and it makes boss fights and caves harder. Like thats what I use crypods for it to transport my dinos to places in order to use them, and i really dont want to put cryofridges everywhere.

They gave us cryopods earlier instead of releasing them during Extinction and this is the handicap for it. Just be thankful they gave it to us this early. Cryopods were meant to be a Extinction-exclusive engram until it was released to all maps when Valguero came out.

i believe they were released sooner than that but regardless it was never a Extinction or any other map exclusive. They were available on the island without having to go get them.

For PvP, i think it will be interesting with how they have cryos now. Attackers will need to setup a front to deploy dinos and reinforcements. Defenders must defend and destroy the outpost. Destroy the outpost, prevent the invasion. Sounds interesting.
For PvE, youll have Multiple fridges at locations, or worse a tribe blocks everything and you are unable to get anything done.
For Singleplayer, theres just no reason for it. Theres not even a reason for the cryo sickness

No cryopods were exclusive to Extinction until the Valguero map was released, a little bit of research will prove that. So like I said just be thankful they gave us them at all, they never had to and we could have just been tame capped until Extinction.

Alas, on PC only.

Console users are doomed to use questionable mods.

Last XBOX update uninstalled all my (two) mods. Would I have lost my modded crypods?

100000 % agree. The devs aren't clever enough to give us MORE USEFULL content !! It sucks !!

Was easier to just get a cryo mod.
