how do i collect fiber

i saw you should be able to get this from plants but i hit the plants and it does not collect anything, please help

If you are empty handed and walk up to a plant and push "E" (by default) you will pick the bushes to get berries and fiber. Plants in water have only fiber most of the time, just watch out for piranhas. Really. They are evil.

If you are using a game pad it's whatever you have Use set to.

A sickle is more efficient once you're able to make one.
As well the gigantopithicus and therizinosaur can both gather fiber well, but imo the sickle is already efficient enough that it'll be the end of your fiber problems.

You also can use dinos to do the job for you. Remember, every dinosaur have a specialty in something. Several dinos can gather resources for you.
