Are Nitrado Backups just broken?

I was flying around when my game crashed, then of course it forced the update... then after that hour update ... nitrado still had to update... fast forward 30 min later and the server is back up, i log in, dead, (we have the recovery stone mod) -- but it didnt work, i flew to my "death marker"... but no body.... i lost full ascended items and some cryopodded dinos as i was on my way to another base... like... days if not more worth of work gone... so i tried shutting off the server and using one of the Map save backups so i dont lose all of todays effort with last nights server backup save.... but i tried 4-5 different backups and each time i load in with the same results... dinos still in their most recent positions and not where they were at the time of the backup save that im trying to load

long story short... am i just screwed or something not working right or did i do something wrong?

Did you ever solve this? This exact thing happened to me last night (about 12 hours ago, and literally I was flying , died, no body/death marker, anything, recover mod didn't do anything), tried to restore many different backups but no matter what I did it was the same place I logged off at. I tried to restore other backups and now my server is basically down completely. It says it comes online (and says updating Every Single Time), but it isn't on the server list.

Nitrado is junk. Grab an old pc and host your own server. Specs really don't matter and the wiki has a very easy guide on how to do it.
