Mutation Help

Never done breeding before and have been watching videos and trying to learn but I'm still confused on some stuff. I found two 120 argentavis that I bred together.

I got a female with a melee mutation. I have the tek binoculars so I see the 2 in the second column. I then bred that bird with the original male 120 until I got another male and female with the melee mutation.

Then I've been breeding the male with the two females. So they all have the one melee mutation that grants two extra levels. The eggs ive been hatching from them all come with a melee mutation but still just the two extra points.

When go into their ancestry it will say 1/20 mutations on the maternal and paternal side. So doesn't that mean 2 mutations so that would be 4 extra points into stamina?

Am I doing this correctly to stack em?

Also not sure if its a bug but when I first look at a bird with the tek binoculars at the bottom where is has the male and female sign with how many mutations from each side it will 0 for both. Then if I go into the ancestry page and come back it will change and say 1 mutation on each side.
