How/can I choose a single player game save to load?
As above really, How, or can I, choose which save game to load in single player?
The game auto saves when I quit, I know this, and I can save while playing also, but can I CHOOSE a save to load? Damned if I can see how to do this and google is not helping.
I don't see the point of being able to save the game myself if it does it automatically, when I quit, so am hoping I am just being dumb and cant see how to load one.
Anyone please?
Cheers.

Can't only one save, game saves every 15 minutes by default, pretty sure it saves when you die.

Saving by hitting esc and clicking save just means if you crash but saved only a few minutes before, you don't lose as much progress.

In your steamapps/common/Ark Survival Ascended/ShooterGame/Saved is your save for each map.
I think Servers have automatic backups but not single player (I am pretty sure ASM in Survival Evolved had backups at least).

In that folder there is several folders, some are settings for the game and other things.
In SavedArksLocal is the save for the map.

If you want to make a backup either copy the entire Saved folder or just the SavedArksLocal folder or rather TheIsland_WP should be enough and paste the copy somewhere else. Then you can replace the folder with the backup if you need to play earlier (for example if you want to try to fight a boss and you end up wiping and you want to go back before the fight).

You can also have multiple saves like this, for example one with mods and one without or one on hard and one on easy.

Thanks for taking the time to do this, I will certainly look to use the information in future ;-)

In that Saved folder, under the map you selected. Assuming the Island right now. It would have TheIsland folder. In that folder are all the saves for the game. It creates a backup each time you log in, and a normal save for the one you play. Every time you hit save, it goes to the normal save and rewrites the same file everytime. If you wish to undo something. You can load the back up save by renaming it to the current save. You may lose hours of play if you haven't logged for awhile. The file you currently use would be TheIsland_WP.ark so that is what you would rename the back up as. As for the current file, I just rename it by adding Old onto it so that isn't the file that gets loaded. Some would copy that and save it elsewhere just incase.
