Found lot weird fps issues, most time get steady 50-70 fps, occasionally drop to 27fps
But doing anyting that forces the game to rething the graphic fixes it, ie logging out and back in, or dropping a graphic setting and setting it back to what it was and suddenly its back to normal with no visual difference.
Starting to think memory leak or catch issue
Thanks for that, I tried that and oddly did also increase in FPS but still getting the dips. It's very frustrating it's not more polished but what did we expect 😅
I did notice this also, but the drops do resume after a very short period. Some of the resolution scaling features seem to cause more issues when switched on! Hoping there's a performance patch soon that fixes some of these issues.
That's a good mention, when I'm next on I'll try that! I have a few at my main base and that's where I see a lot of the issues when barely moving around!
Are you near caves?
Try following:
In game open console and type: STAT FPS
It shows the real fps in game on right side.
Then press ESC and enter SETTINGS and VIDEO.
Watch your FPS to the right...
Click on one option (no matter which) and click same setting you set there. This is only to activate the SAVE button. Because in this moment you click SAVE, the FPS should raise then to normal. Then play, fps should stay then.
If this works, you need to repeat this all time you start ASA new.
Ask the devs why this behavior is this way. I reported this weeks ago at wildcard support.

No fix yet unfortunately. I also have since bought a ROG Ally and I am having the same issue on that, so it cant be hardware related. I have stopped playing for the time being in the hopes that there is some optimization that helps with this issue as its borderline game breaking for me.
Did you include the parameter
-useallavailablecores
in your launch options for the game in Steam?
May be this can help.
Additional - if you ask Google for "Ark Ascended fps drops" you earn a lot of results with information what to do...
