Best Ark advice you got
Whats your best advice that you would give , above anything else , to anyone thats starting to play Ark

Stuff that you learned over years of Ark that you always follow for guaranteed success or just small things you got used to doing overtime . And make it good , not obv stuff like take more narcos then what you need thats boring.
Or stuff like ' dont play it ' , this is for people that are interested in playing the game and im looking for advice that would help with that

Ill start , if you re new to Ark , switch your use key from E to T BEFORE you start flying haha(i have 'you follow me' on E) if theres one death you should avoid in this game , make it that one XD

Learn that you don't need every Dino in the game lol, the more dinos you have the bigger the area your gonna need unless you have a cryo pod mod.

I got 2 for you... 1st, ignore disgruntled players who do not know how to read.

2nd .... New dino Ai does not recognize pillars as a structure to go around, so designing traps with pillars is the new go to. Can also pick it all up now after you have tamed the creature.

Don't leave base with anything you can't afford to loose.

can do the same with the beavers for wood.
As far as advice goes...... keep all the gear you get thats not primitive. you will die and it can be impossible to get your stuff back naked. Keep your main flyer on passive flee and any dinos inside your base structure on passive...........ove only for pvp i think its neutral but dont do pvp.................Last advice get plant x seeds and put them on 3 post with a roof floor. 10 of them will keep those pesky birds away

New to Ark. Learned yesterday that my newly added Sarco can be used to harvest oil and pearls from leeches in the swamp.

1. tame a phioma (any level +- 5-10 minutes to do)(food stat is what matters and to level)
- build crop plots
- farm bushes for berries mejo/narco and stim. also gather mejo and narco seeds.
- force feed the phioma stim berries, it will poop a lot, use this as fertilizer
- grow your own mejo and narco berries!

Now you have basic food to tame dinos and keep them knocked out.

2. tame yourself a pteradon, your friendly flyer.

3. now that you have a phioma, tame a beetle (1 is enough)
- beetles collect poop you also tame them with poop.
- poop turns into fertilizer and oil.
- now you can kill the phioma for some free meat and hide

4. stay on beach, build a 4x4 building out of thatch. Don't go crazy...crazy, be a minimalist. Once you level up to around 20+ you unlock stone building parts, this is the moment you can go crazy...crazy, best allround protection, almost no dino can damage stone.

5. tame anky a doedy a beaver and an argy
- doedi for stone / thatch
- beaver for wood / berries
- argy to fly them around and gather with, also argy is a good fighter to get meat and hide
- anky for a bit later to farm metal, flint, crystals, berries

Now you go crazy...crazy and do whatever you want to do, your set and be able to gather all basics.

Build the toilet. Put fresh meat in it and flush. Then put one turd in it and flush. POOOF, you now have instantly spoiled meat to make your narcotics.

Play the first game and wait a year or two for this one to be playable or for Snail Games to go bankrupt so a competent company can take over.

Skip starting dinos, they are utterly useless, you not gonna benefit from them at all, except slowing down your progress.

Your first tames should be :

Stego (wood, thatch, berries, tanky, decent damage)
Sarco (good body guard, fastest swimmer, land access)
Doedicurus (good at gathering stone)
Ankylo (good at gathering metal, obsidian, crystal and flint)
Argentavis (super strong, can carry 2 animals, insta heal from dead bodies, saddle can be used as a smithy, decent at fighting and carry lots of weight)

You have these 5 animals and you all set, early and mid game.

moschops are a bob's best friend. they gather a lot of stuff decently and are easy to tame.

Tame an otter and never worry about freezing or overheating again!

Tired of chasing otters all over the place to tame them? Just pick them up in the beak of an argie, and then land the argie and dismount, being careful not to left-click. The wild otter will stay in the beak of the argie, allowing you to just bring fish to it. If you have ally looking on, the argie will even lower the otter down for you when you get close.

When it comes to picking up fish that your ichthyornis has dropped; make sure to not shoulder the ichthyornis before picking up the fish. Having a shoulder pet can bug the fish out. If you still can't pick the fish up, try punching it first. If the fish is falling through the mesh when the ichthyornis drops it, then have the ichthyornis drop the fish on a rock.

Fly low to the ground when riding a flyer, it can help to not die from fall damage if you crash and make it easier to recover after crashing
