RX 6600 on a Ryzen 5 5500, how well would the game run?
I'm putting together a simple game computer for my brother for Xmas, and the state only lets me keep $50/month of my income, so... I'm on a tight budget.

I know what the listed req and rec are for the game. My computer is far beyond the recommendation but won't allow the game to run for more than a couple of minutes without freezing up my system full bore, requiring a hard boot to get out of it.
But I've seen people with systems lower than the "required"... not just play the game, but Stream it.

The 5600 and 6600 combo is apparently The entry level for gaming right now, so does anyone have this setup or very similar, who could share their experience with the game?

(16 gigs of ram, M.2 using the PCIe 4 so ... top speed there)

i have the ryzen 5 3600 with an rx 6750 xt and it runs well at medium settings, the game isnt optimised as of yet so you should be fine running at medium settings while adjusting some other settings as well

I mean it will run, I seen a youtube video on the GPU that is... turn off shadows and clouds and such put everything down... iduno tbh.

Perhaps wait a bit? Save some more money and wait for the game to be fixed.

Normally, that would be my advice.
But Christmas is less than 30 days away, and it could take a week or more to get the parts delivered so...

I just wondered if it would be worth adding to the list.

My time with family is essentially the time my brother and I spend playing a game. His is a gaming laptop he got from WalMart ... which was mind-blowingly good for a laptop, but that was over a decade ago.
It can Run Valheim, but if it snows or rains, he's in single digit framerates, and doesn't come back.

So I figured it I could put together something that would run a few games newer than Skyrim at the quality they were intended.. it would be worthwhile.

ASA isn't the be all or anything.
Heck if either of us were in a position to Port-Forward, I could keep us going on ASE for the next 5 years. Atlas for another couple past that.
... *sigh* If only.

I recently went back to ASE to see which i preferred, graphics aside, i found i enjoyed ASA more because of the QOL additions they made to the game. I use mods but barely any compared to the amount of mods i was using in ASE.

I am AMD GPU/CPU i discovered that the setting "Advanced Graphics" really makes a huge difference in stability and optimization. Had it on medium and crashed every 15 minutes or so, and the game was not much better looking than ASE. Maxed it to Epic and i ended up playing over 5 hours straight, and it looked amazing. I have no idea what this setting does, it seems very broad, but for am AMD user it seemed to make a huge difference.
