Blueprints question
I play singleplayer and I feel like the lootbox feel like cheating to a degree, free handouts etc

So my question is can you get all the games blueprints etc with lootboxes turned off, and if so how?

You can learn primitive versions of the blueprints (engrams) without lootboxes by using the points which you get when leveling up. You can get sometimes better quality ones from the loot bags of killed dinos. But the best ones I got so far definitely came from lootboxes.

yes and no, killing alphas do get you some better items, but not blueprints, and the level of the items and the list of available items are different compared to the drops

You'll struggle to finish the alpha versions of the bosses with just primitive saddles. It might be possible with enough HP, but then your dino army won't do as much damage. Maybe you don't intend to do the bosses, idk. I can understand the overland loot drops feeling like free handouts, but the underwater and cave drops (which is where most of the blueprints come from) have to be worked for.

Does disable the loot crates remove the ocean and cave crates too?

Kinda just want disable the orbital drops, especially as they spawn so often you can just fly between them forever for infinite handouts.

You could just not do it.

May just have to be disciplined, and delete anything I find that's not a BP in the orbital drops, because being given 1000 of rare resource without effort of or risk feels lame lol

I get it feels like cheating, but once you reach the grinder and prepare for boss battles, I don't think it is.
Did you ever try to make 20 ascendand saddles for a boss fight? x3? + Saddles for the endboss?
You will need a ton of resources for that and you will need to do a ton of breeding and levelling to have creatures capable of those alpha fights. On vanilla settings resource rates are really low so most people really rely on those drops.

I do agree though, that in mid game it gives you a little too big of an advantage. I think they will reduce avarage quality of the drops in a patch one day because the boost those got compared to ASE is insane.

Maybe make yourself a rule that you have to reach lvl 100 or even max lvl before opening drops blue and higher?

Past 100 from just explorer note despite only just getting a Argy, despite that already have fully powered base coz the drop keep dropping fabricator, power grill. forges and plenty silicon and cement etc etc

Why would i spend time taming specialist dino to get me resources when the games just handing them out lol

Uhhm, so you are doing the speedrun method of levelling and grinding and then complain that you are progressing in an unbalanced way? I mean, you definitely had to look up all those note locations or install a mod for them to find so many at once?

In my first game I got to like 80 without realizing I wasn't getting drops at all, there is a graphics setting (global illumination I think) I had set to low that has to be at least medium to see the light pillars.

Really not concerned about the leveling side when you got hundred dino's to level, and you stumble across a loads note everywhere you step, the issue is being handed out several hundred black pearls without ever stepping in the ocean.

Having thousands of cementing paste without ever fighting the beavers or taming a snail.

Having all the end game machines without ever building one or farmining the materials to make electrical devices

The second you loot 1 red orbital you can see 2 more spawned on the horizon, loot those and yet more just spawned, why craft anything when its all falling from the sky.

Did you change some drop config or something? I rarely get any red drop, most are blue and purple, some yellow.

Hard difficulty, loot value defaults to 1
Higher level you get the more yellow and red drops you see.

But game don't seem to scale for multiplayer/singleplayer

Might seem more balanced in multiplayer when people are fighting over the drops, but in SP they all yours, all you need is a fast flyer and your only challenge might to to bait away that Rex
Tinkamara Nov 28, 2023 @ 10:42am
I've already been max lvl on my last save and am 81 now, but nope, I never got that many red drops. No idea if hard difficulty does it though, I just copied my inis from ASE without messing with settings ingame.

Still, you're obviously abusing a game mechanic or two here. If you hunt drops all day and grind notes, sure, you will be op in no time. But it's just not playing as intended.
Maybe start a new save, put global illumination quality to low (you won't get the light beams that way) and then only gather the drops you come by?

More like the game just not well balanced for SP, you can loot a red drop in carno island, jump on your bird start fly away, and one last glance back as you leave the island and they is another yellow beam from right where you just left.

I be tempted to manually drop the loot quality, but afraid that might gimp the chance of getting the blueprints needed to beat the game, but that said i getting tonnes high quality loot, but almost zero blueprints.

And it the lack of blueprints thats pushing to to hunt them down, not the rss
