Not too familiar. But isn't that more for graphics setting? And wouldn't I have had issues before 30ish hours in?
The tweeks I was doing on pc were too get thermals lower, which I think made the pc unstable hence pc crashing. and possibly corrupting my saved game( just my theory).
So far I've been fine playing since restart of playthrough.
On a different note when playing on 12/3/23 I've crashed when exiting inventories, But NOT the same issue as above.

The water wont look as nice, but you should be able to play crash-free.
If your pc crashed and not just ASA, it is very likely, that your old save got corrupted. You could have rolled back to each of the older saves, to see if one of them works. But i guess this isnt needed anymore since you started over.
I was under the impression that there is just a single save to a map. But if there is I'm not certain about where to look in the UI menu, Though the file may have that, It didn't show differing file names to indicate other saves.
As to Inventory crashing That's weird one. Personal Inventory such as clothing swaps from another inventory starts it.
You can find them at this path: Steam Games\steamapps\common\ARK SurvivalAscended\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal\TheIsland_WP
Your savegame is named TheIsland_WP.ark. If you want to load a backup you need to rename one of the backup files (those with the timestemp) to TheIsland_WP.ark.
But why not show them in UI menu then? other than the fact the game was most likely ported to UE5 with tweeks.
