Can you recover Dinos that fall under map?
Looking to see if there is a command or trick to get them back on top of the surface. This is for single player, and yet again I have a tamed dino that has fallen through the map and is now under the surface mesh.

On single player you should be able to bring up the console and type 'ghost'. This will put you in a no-clip flying mode, which will allow you to fly down to them. You should then be able to mount them, which will temporarily cancel 'ghost', so you'll have to type 'ghost' into the console again. You can then fly your mount up above the mesh, and then type 'walk' into the console to cancel the mounts ghost. Then dismount and type 'walk' again to cancel the player ghost. If your character falls through the mesh when dismounting, don't panic you won't die. Just type 'walk' into the console and the game will put you back above the mesh within 10s.

Firstly, try reconnecting. Sometimes that's all that is needed.

The next thing I can suggest is a little complicated but I will split it into bullet points.
You will need another dino for this and a way to go to the other side of the map, there are commands like fly and ghost.

1. Mount a different tamed dino.
2. Whistle to make that stuck dinosaur follow. Whistle all if you are unable to single follow. Also may need to move the mounted tame a little bit to trigger the stuck dino to want to move.
3. Dismount the tame and leave both tames where they are.
4. Move out of render distance, so another part of the world very far away.
5. Disconnect. Reconnect.
6. Go back to the tames.

The theory is that the movement of the stuck dino will be calculated by the game while the world around it is not rendered. Meaning when you get back it will have magically teleported to where it would otherwise be.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Ok that's way simpler. Even after all these years I never knew you could ghost while mounted and that it would work.

It's okay even after all these years devs don't know they should load ground and structures before dinos to stop this from happening.

Thank you FiredEgg! That worked beautifully! Wish I knew this before and could have used it to recover six other dinos.

Just your friendly PvP community member here helping out: You can use a cart. I had a half-way undermeshed theri... make sure you clear all debris and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around it. Finegle around with the cart and eventually if you can get it under it i'll pop up onto the cart. I used follow, if it's running seems to work.

Obviously can't cheat on official servers or other ppl servers.
