Pteranodon saddle difficulty

It is too difficult for noobs to obtain the chitin/keratin necessary to craft a pteranodon saddle. Please consider adjusting it or changing requirements.

Trilobites - Chitin.
Scorpions and Spiders in entry of Caves - Chitin
Trikes, Turtles, Stegos - Keretin

Go hunt, level up.. or Trap them, then slaughter and level up..it pushes you out of your safety zone.. which is the point of the game.

In the south of the island there is an easy cave. If you tame a frog(Beelzebufo) in the swamp, you can ride it and kill at least the first spiders and scorpions with a low level frog. With the frog you also collect a lot of chitin very quickly. You don't have to go extra deep into the swamp for the frog, just wait at the edge until one shows up. Good luck & have fun!

i answered you yesterday.
just ride on the beach and use a spear to get trilobites which is gonna give you balck and white pearls ; oil and keratin/chitin .

Kill turtles, theyre literally unable to catch up to you if you walk backwards

increase the harvest rate so u harvest more stuff, or just cheat it in.
its not actually that hard to get it but i do know what u mean.
i havent tested the pathfinding in asa but in ase it was quite easy to get dinos stuck between trees so u can easy kill them for their stuff.
if it really grinds down your progress i would just cheat some in.

if you can't manage 75 Kertain &/or Chitin for a Pteranodon Saddle by level 38, you have far bigger issues than not just having the ingredients needed for a saddle.

Seeing as the pteranodon saddle was moved further down the engram list when flyers were first nerfed, it's not intended to be an early game tame anymore.

Focus on getting a raptor or trike, either will let you farm more easily.

Off topic but a fun test.
make a pen near Red obelisk place a dino in that pen. tell it to follow another dino. take the second dino to Green obelisk. fly back to Red obelisk and let the first dino out of the pen, it will then path all the way to Green on its own *(as long as you stay in render) going around obstacles, over bridges and will do everything in its power not to run off of cliffs while trying to make its way.

It's actually quite easy. Chitin\Keratin is farmable from multiple early game animals. Trilobites, Ants, Dragonflies, Turtles, Trikes, Stegos etc...

Ahhh man taming moschops can be a real ballache though lmao
Sometimes they need mid to end-game food to tame, though sometimes they only need berries I guess.

Are you kidding is totaly normal obtainable and easy for noobs get sadle for pteranodon just go kills some big turtles

Funny, we were all noobs back in 2015 and there have been thousands and thousands of noobs ever since joining the game. All of us managed to find it. You'll find it too. I don't want it any easier to find it because it's a SURVIVAL game.

I remember when i started playing Ark, it was a week before Scorched came out. I logged in got owned on the beach a lot so i went into the forest and died some more, I had no idea what i was doing and said Eff It. Why play on an old map when the "New" content will be out soon (newb move). SE release .. first 4-8 hours were hell. I thought i had no idea what was going on before? HA!! .. First week i hated the game and regretted buying it... Week 2 i was king of the world.. week 3 i was clawing my way back up from stone tools again... =)

I bet we all remember when we first started playing Ark with no idea what was going on, while watching sl1pg8r videos. "What UP the World" ..

Or was I the only one who started playing Ark without a clue .. other than it looked cool.
