Hosting own server, having to manually update installed mods via ASA ...
I host my own server, locally. I havent made any changes to the mod id's. What I have seen normally happen, is upon launching ASA, the installed mods are auto updated. Until today, 11/21/2023. When I check the installed mods, some are outdated but I can manually update.

After manually updating, I then launch my server through its respective bat. Connect and then again the mods go through a install process. After this finishes, it becomes a loop.

Mods installed via server, connect to server, create a manual save via console, disconnect from server. I then reconnect to server again only to have the mods that were updated manually via ASA to be outdated once again. Repeating the cycle.

Ive made no changes to server bat. All mods are/or were downloaded upon initial successful connection to server using correct id's from curseforge.

Feel like im beating a horse at this moment.

Ark can find your server? Since the patch last night mine no longer shows up. It's been gone all day...

Its an issue with the last couple server updates

i wont run mods due to whack update schedules trying to keep it all updated and mods updated and rely on mod devs and wildcard devs ... at least till it settles down

If I manually search using a few letters of server name, server will show up. If I dont search, even if I favorite it from beginning, it will not show up on favorites. Can confirm ports are cleared, firewalls configured. Still doeant show unless I search by name.

That aside, the issue still remains with the loop. I'm leaning towards the Xbox launch. As I did not encounter this sunday.

Launched server, played for a few hours on an off, updated server mid day Monday, started running into issues.

this is happening to my dedicated as well but only very certain mods , most of the Additional dinos and the dwarven build stuff as well as the s-type dinos. after cruzing the discords to try and find an answer i found that at least the additional dinos author had cooked and submitted the mods for cross compatibility, and this was early on since they stated they have been trying since late last night. a deduction of that seems to be the factor at least for me, server has mods , then tells client you need these mods but client has them, server says no you dont they reinstall but dont actually install properly like they were flagged to be reviewed and not allowed to be installed. just the only thing that makes any sense since the client and server were patched for cross compatibility in the last couple patches. and just before that all was fine.

same issue, done about same things you have. Been googling this like crazy so far have not found a solution so far.

Update:

So initially when I went through ASA to pick and download mods, they would then auto update upon launch.

Thinking I had a corrupt mod, due to server crashing on start, prior to all this, I went digging and found a mod that "violated the rules" and was removed from ASA mods list.

With that removed, the bad mod, I was able to lauch a old server I made for testing purposes.

Moving forward. After I went through ASA and did a uninstall all mods, shut down ASA, check ASA mod folder to be empty EXCEPT for temp folder.

I then relaunched ASA found each mod and downloaded through ASA. Making no changes to my server launch bat file.

After which, once I booted up my server and connected, it does not reinstall the mods and thus far, on update 31.28 update, everything is as it should be. This after 10 disconnects and reconnects along with server shutdowns and restarts.

So, at this time I want to believe I resolved my issue. Aside from losing frames when opening and closing doors. That one still confuses me.

TLDR;

Hosted self server. Allowed server to download mods. Each time connected server had to reinstall mods. Remove mods through ASA. Shutdown ASA. Verify ASA mod folder is empty EXCEPT for temp folder. Launch ASA picked the mods I used on my server. Success.

I have the same problem. This must have something to do with cross play because it's only these mods that were capable of crossplay since November 21st, all of my other installed mods don't need to be downloaded again. Unfortunately the Dwarven Build Mod is also included and all structures are gone

Favorites has been completely broken since release

I figured as much. Even official servers I mark as favorites don't show. Even though I won't touch official again.

Only reason I play with this work around, hosting a server off my pc when I play, is to avoid crashes and losing progress. I don't have the top of the line pc, but I'm content with my 50 to 70 fps on medium / low settings. Until the budget says otherwise, or ASA is better optimized.

Added following to the game.ini
[ModInstaller]
ModIDS=928621
ModIDS=....

this for every mod I load in the command line. Seems to work so far for most mods.
