Does this work even when the server used to work literally a day before, now I'm going to need the license. Not that I don't believe you but the download is sketch.

However, we keep noticing that many games "e.g. Squad" that make Epic requests have problems with Epic's SSL certificates. You can see this very clearly in the log for the game Squad. Epic runs via Amazon Cloud.
