if you want to breed eggs just turn on only to collect unfertilized eggs.
and it doesnt have a huge collection range so just overweight the animal turn on wander and make sure all animals are in range ( it wont move so its sure to pick everything it can)
On wander they collect all eggs. Fert or otherwise. Standing still, they collect all eggs around them and get xp from collections. Egg drop rate boost only from wander. Higher levels have bigger pickup range. If you're hatching, move them away from hatchery.
I have 4 ovi's spread around my base, 1 on wander Not had a problem with them picking up or from last patch.

Yeah, that's strange... because they do absolutely nothing. I tried both, wander and without. But nothing. I can see the eggs laying around, but they don't pick them up. It's enabled.
Sorry but that's not for me... i wan't to do all my stuff myself. :/
