Looks like rubber-banding.
There's also something vaguely similar that happens if you collide with an invisible mesh, but usually that puts you back where you started and not forward like that.
If this experience is game breaking, I would recommend waiting a few months until they get this stuff ironed out. Some immediate alternatives would be switching to single player or playing on a non-dedicated server.
With that said, I want to advise a word of caution playing on a non-dedicated server. Host tethering is an option that can't be modified by much (to my knowledge) and greatly alters the way you experience the game. You can only be a certain distance away from the host before you're forcefully pulled back to them, thus completely ruining the sense of exploration and freedom. You're basically the prisoner of the host and it is a far worse experience because of that.
So you guys don't think it is ARK ASA issue, but the particular server?
Any idea what your ping is at? And is it just a Nitrado server?
What kind of server is this?
lol, you summed it all up. I have two beds next to each other. My routine is to load up, teleport from one bed to another, and play without issue until purple rain comes calling. Could be 10 minutes, could be 60. The ark gods are mysterious in their poorly coded ways.
