Who could have predicted this?
Oh wait I did months ago
Edit: actually when I was talking about Ark 2 in January but still counts.

The reason ASE has more players atm is not all about the maps[dlc]
Its more about how bad the performance and crashes are on ASA.
As time goes by and they patch ASA more players will do the switch but that
won't stop many from playing ASE because lets be honest, not everyone will
upgrade their gaming rigs just to play ASA when ASE is running so smooth and
like you did point out, ASE has a lot of content to enjoy.
I for one wont give up on my ASE, its too good to give up
Imagine waiting years for bug fixes, Dino’s, and maps that ASE already offers.
ASE runs bad, but at least server browsing works, you dont need high/epic settings for things to render correctly, doesn't crash as often, has WAY more content, lower specs needed to play and the server software is more stable.
Comparative chart for ASE and ASA on steam charts for peak concurrencies:
https://steamcharts.com/cmp/2399830,346110#1m
If you look on the chart, ASE has been pretty consistently peaking above ASA during play peak times for AU/NZ/SE/Asia/Eastern CIS. EU carries the primary peak concurrency time for ASA with a secondary smaller bump during US peak play hours.
It is a telling situation but not in the manner that folks may be thinking necessarily.
Brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant…
LMAO "imagine".. ASE STILL has bugs and crashes 9 yrs later.. wait i didnt have to imagine that.. its REAL.. at this point we will be imagining a finished ASA... .. .
I bet there are so many people actually still running with 1070 - 1080 gtx
So obvs they're not gonna wanna play a game at 20-30 fps
Me on a 4080 super there is no way in hell I'd switch back to evolved
1) Thylaco still broken, just in a different way (continues to run after landing after a jump for instance)
2) The Center map is horrid. The same texture all over, areas with obvious patterning (walls next to large waterfalls), etc. I find the original Center map to be much more visually appealing and in the areas I have played, much more playable.
3) So far ASA is much more buggy. I have had dinos fall through the map when loading into the game for instance.
4) The marketing (Bobs whatever) puts me off. Payable DLC in the engrams? I do my best to avoid this sort of blatant in your face money grab.
