as you try to correct my ignorance..
"no patch has took over 5 minutes on my pc"
NO PATCH HAS TAKEN OVER 5 MINUTES ON MY PC, YOU MEAN
let that sink in..
(huh?! wha??...?!!)
*crickets*
crickets in your brain man
also (@ earth) differentiate between ARE and IS
i cannot express how ignorant you ARE and your speech IS
so you need the huge free space so they duplicate the big file when patching, and then to delete the old one.
it is a noob method, but it is what they have chosen.
and you need bigger and bigger free space as new dlcs appear.
when ark will reach 500GB you will need a 1 TB drive JUST FOR ARK and nothing else.
Which isnt enough to reinstall yet another weekly incremental patch that changes 3 lines of codes but still requires you to reinstall the whole game, right?
Has nothing to do with the game. Go to the Steam Forum for Icarus they have the same issue. Check out the original Ark, had the same issue. Think about it logically who is giving you the data? Steam or Wildcard? The real problem is Steam and Unreal Game Engine which happens to also be Epic Game Store. Not hard to guess that maybe things are done on purpose to Unreal games at least for Indie games. Steam is not going to try this with big AAA companies they would get buried.
