Show player Servers == Nitrado are sleazeballs

The update note justifying this idiocy:

Updated how unofficial servers are listed to prevent errors and exploits
To see non-commercially (non-Nitrado) hosted Unofficial Servers, please enable the checkbox “Show Player Servers” and refresh the session list

And that button is OFF by default. Every single time you enter the game it resets.

So apparently these morons think that private servers cause errors and exploits?! LOL, HAHAHA!

The cheating was on official, not unofficial you liars.

If you want people to rent overpriced game instances on a shared rig giving them 2 measly cores, 18gb of ram and 40gb of disk space for 20 people at 25$+ a month how about you do the work for it you scumbags?

Nah, instead of that you put a checkbox in the server browser that means almost nothing to people searching ("player servers"?!) so that they think the unofficial servers listed are all of those hosted on private servers.

Just FYI, you can buy a 300$ rack server on amazon, free shipping. Get a 10$ copy of legit windows server 2022 and easily host an entire cluster of this game plus some. At a cost of like 20$ in electricity/month, all you need is a decent internet connection (maybe 500mbps to 1gbps? As long as you have like 50mbps up)

Are you going to pay these scumbags at Nitrado 25$ a month for a 20 slot server multiplied by all the maps? You are essentially working for them at that point.

32 cores, 64gb of ram (upgradable to like 1024gb cheaply), 4 Gbit Nic, space for like 8 SSD.
(there are many of of these listings for both Dell and HPE , many are similarly priced and come with upwards of 256gb of ram + hard drives as a bonus)

Vs.

Nitrado at 25$+ a month X # of maps, you cant use plugins only mods that break every other week.

You could buy this server in like 8 months on that alone. Add in other maps and you could probably justify it in like 1-2 months. And no, you do not need all sorts of crazy equipment for this. Just a place to put it where its not heard (its very loud if nearby), power and an Ethernet connection.

Oh and you can do all sorts of fun things with this. Host a private cloud, make a NAS, host websites, put movies on it, etc...all at the same time you are hosting game servers. These things are reliable work horses.

Unlike Nitrado, who are only reliably sleazeballs.

Good video, I saw that a few days ago, I didn't realize that not only did they add the shady "show private servers" button (and justify it on the grounds we cause errors and other problems...

But they also included monitoring software for who knows what purpose.

if they did the opposite , we wouldht have files to host the game with currently. Ea did the EXACT same thing with Battlefield 3 when they went to TGSPs for their hosting instead of allowing people to host their own servers. Please actually pay attention to what youre reading before you want to talk smack.

They only released the ability to do so because of MASSIVE backlash. I may have gotten the game late, but I was on the forums from day 1.
