Flashlight attachment

So, I looted a flashlight attachment and thought it'd be cool on my shotgun, upon checking the description it says "supports longneck rifle" and shotguns, among others so great I'll drag it onto my shotgun and use it but ohh no, it doesn't support MY shotgun (which is a double barrelled shotgun) so ok I thought I'll try it on my longneck rifle, which I use for taming and thus have it loaded with tranq darts. So again, I drag the flashlight onto my longneck and this time it works, great, UNTIL I go to use it when now it says it has has no ammo in it, WTF? so the attachment REPLACES the dart when attached thus unloading the dart so I can use my longneck as a flashlight, but not as a rifle unless I load it with a bullet at which point it works as a normal longneck!
Is this how it's supposed to work? I don't recall this issue with the previous version of the game and tbh it's not really a game breaker but I thought it a little bit weird, maybe they'll change it at some point!

Yes Scope doesn't work with Dart.
