I thought it stopped happening for me but I don't remember why. Or maybe there was no good reason.
A lot of times I would have two megalodons follow me and one would do that stupid thing where they circle at the water surface, and the other one wouldn't.
And I guess they die if they stay at the surface. I've seen other people saying that also. I never actually saw it happen to my megalodon with my own eyes, but I found one of megs dead before, when I came back to my base. And it was at the water surface.
Just bred in the shallow cove, I whistled them to follow me outside herby island, riding my basilosaurus.
Once I was over deep ocean, 500 m off the island maybe, try as I may, no matter how deep I dived into the ocean with my whale, they staid like stupid floating buoys, turnind around vertically over me, on the surface. Only once in a while one of them cared to dive too… And then they just died, one by one (killed), for no reason.
This a major problem, I was breeding them for the underwater caves…
Ride them for a little while, long enough to bring them well under the surface, and then go back to riding your basil, and they'll follow you normally?
I'll definitely try this, thanks!
from a troll
but i am not a troll, and am very serious:
use Xiphactinus instead
their damage reduction becomes extreme in a group,
AND YOU CAN STILL PUT 124% SADDLES ON THEM!!
so a large group of them saddles properly imprinted and bred can destroy anything with ease
alphas of the sea, enemy tuso armies, enemy megalodon armies..
anything...
well except perhaps my deinosuchus 124 army i am building xD
but those are slower, more like gigas used for defense
but the x fish is a toothy monster you should use instead of megalodon
it's much more difficult to tame, but once you get them tamed up and breeding you will see
they're faster than dolphins too,
but unlike dolphins who must flee
Xiphactinus kills everything
nah, the problem is the new IA, when you have more than 2 dinos in "follow" seems like they lost their brains
