How long will dinos/bases survive unattended in Ascended?
As above really,
In the previous version I went on holiday for two weeks and upon returning, even though I had filled my troughs with food, my dinos all died before i got home.
As a result of that happening I now play single player, but if my base and dinos can actually be as I left them when I get home, I am, tempted to try again on a server. If not then I will stay on SP as I was gutted when that happened, such a basic thing imo..

servers default i think is 7 days some un-offical servers run 2 weeks for free 30 days for vips. Some that don't know any better turn the decay off on a server. Leaving it off means you need an admin running around looking for abandoned bases and destroying them constantly or the server will have massive lag. what ive done in the past when i had to be out of town was to have my wife login for 5 mins and log out every 4 days doesn't work for all. You could load it on a laptop. Not to play . just to login

Like the above said, official servers have a cleanup process that'll get you just to make space for other players.

Unofficial servers I like to just put a few points into my food stat so I can neglect my dinos more.

Either way if you join a tribe you won't have to worry as much about it because someone can take care of your stuff when you're offline.

Thanks for the reply ;-)
So it looks like nothing much has changed in that regard, kinda stupid as the average holiday period is around two weeks, I would think.
7 days to me is ridiculous although I do get that nobody wants servers full of inactive players bases and dinos etc, but 7 days!
I did think about carting my laptop around as you suggest but decided against that as I don't think I should have to give up potentially valuable space/weight just to avoid what is, to me, an utterly stupid game mechanic.
If Wildcard used their brains a little they could have some kind of holiday pass, that I/we could buy for a few £'s to extend that period by say three weeks or so, I would have been happy to pay a fiver to be sure my base remains as i left it while I am away.

It's a possibility since it sounds like Wildcard intends on introducing MTX, but they probably haven't thought of something like a holiday pass.

The structure decay is based on material. Stone structures decay in 12 days, metal in 16 days, tek in 20 days. Makes it very hard to play solo, I like my holidays too.

We are getting cryopods soon so you can cryo your dinos and avoid them starving.

Oh yeah you can also upload them at an obelisk or supply drop, and store gear that way too.
